Very professional and friendly staff; great food.

Excellent food.

The hotel, location, the village setting. The beautiful riverside walk just a couple of minutes from the hotel. The food. The room was excellent. The pool , hot tub gym and sauna. The quaint historical railway station. The local history of the area the hotel sits in.

Nothing to report, as I found every thing and every one top class.

The staff were brilliant, lovely, helpful people. The pool was lovely.

The quality of food and service enhanced by the effiency and friendliness of the staff.

Staff was great, the breakfast good, the surrounding lovely.

We came through the back of the hotel and that is not so pretty.

Lovely comfortable hotel in beautiful surroundings but only a few minutes from Carlisle. Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Wonderful setting on the banks of the River Eden.

Location. Good for visiting Carlisle yet set in the countryside.

Spa facilities. Good location for trains and Carlisle. Lovely setting and gardens. Very pleasant staff. Food very good.

Hairdryer in room too hot. Everything else was lovely.

Excellent facilities, exceptionally well maintained and clean. Food, staff and lounge area excellent and a lovely place to stay. Very impressed. A little gem - will be back! Not often these days that hotels are so well kept and maintained - Well Done - obviously a good management team and staff.

Check in was easy and helpful. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Non smoking rooms very nice.

Really enjoyed the setting and to be honest didn't expect such a lovely hotel.. so clean lovely breakfast and very friendly staff . Leisure complex a bonus and thoroughly appreciated. As we only stayed one night we did not do much exploring of the area etc. Hopefuuly be back for a longer stay.

This is a rather personnel issue but I found the bed rather soft !!!! On the plus side a great size. No complaints. Oh yes food in bar alright but one on our party had fish and it was poor poor.......

Friendly and accommodating staff, comfortable room, good food from the restaurant and at breakfast, great setting in a picturesque village, conveniently located close to Carlisle and the Lakes, nice pool and leisure facilities. Really enjoyed our stay.

It's only a very minor point but the pool is a little deep in places and changes depth quite suddenly.

Great hotel in natural unspoiled countryside with lots to do in area

This was supposed to be a stop-gap hotel after travelling around the north of England and before we went on to the Lake District. What a lovely little gem it turned out to be. It had a lovely atmosphere and the staff were plenty and helpful in the extreme. If anyone is visiting Carlisle I would recommend stopping here instead of in the city. It is only 8 miles away and also on a trainline. The village of Wetherall is charming.

It was good to get off the train and the hotel was a few minutes walk.

Good location for exploring area and perfect for visiting Fantails Restaurant in Wetheral, one of the best meals I've ever eaten.

Unable to have a drink until bar opened at 5 p.m. Came back after a walk at about 3:30 to be told the bar was shut and although we were residents we still could not have a drink.

The local walks in the Eden valley, plus Fantails Restaurant just a short walk away from the hotel. Also, the railway station is worth a visit as its like stepping back to the railway's golden years of the fifties and sixties.

Very child friendly especially the nice touches such as an easter egg in the room for the children on arrival over easter weekend.Swimming pool was also excellent

Extremely friendly & welcoming nice cosy bar with friendly staff. Good with children. Lovely breakfasts in the morning, staff very considerate & supplied toast which we'd forgotten to ask for. As it was Easter they even gave us a chocolate egg each.

My wife had a manicure at the spa which she thought was substandard.

Very friendly,.cosy, leisure facilities were very good.Food reasonable,waiting staff excellent,service excellent.

Bedroom too hot and noisy being next to the boiler house
