Floral displays from car park to entrance were magnificent. The room was large and comfortable with a balcony view. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially as we required our room 2 hours before normal check in. The complimentary bottled water and chocolate was an added bonus. We could not fault the Sunday lunch and breakfast. Overall a great experience and will definitely book again.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, food was great. Hotel and staff were great.
The only small negative was the room was small and corridor was loud. but this did not affect our night.
Friendly staff and a lovely breakfast. We have stayed here before, a great stop off place when going up to Scotland.
Wi-fi was poor in our room. TV not in an ideal situation.
the staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much effort. room was lovely and comfortable.
location, service, comfort, helpful staff, good food, in a pretty village
Comfortable, spacious room. Very good choice at breakfast. Hot options cooked to order. Good parking. Close proximity to train station provided the option of leaving the car and travelling east or west by train.
Shower over bath was weak. No lift - some rooms on second floor.
exceptional staff, very good restaurant,we had a suite which we didn't but that was all that was available and that added an extra level of comfort.
Very comfortable and enjoyable stay with friendly and helpful staff.
Staff were very helpful. The Crown had a nice friendly atmosphere about it but the service was nonetheless very professional. We arrived late, and there was no problem in re-arranging the table for dinner that we had booked. Food was very good value for money and the room was very clean and comfortable.
Nothing specific although it was bit of a squeeze to get into the car park.
With no passing traffic & extensive gardens the hotel has an 'away from it all' feeling. We spent a lot of time in the gardens as the weather was really hot & appreciated how well laid out & tidy they were. The hotel itself was delightfully quirky with a labyrinth of interconnecting corridors, bars & other areas. The room was well up to scratch with the bed being particularly comfortable.
I did not find anything to not like in the one day & night we stayed for a wedding event. Afraid I cannot therefore make this section up to 200 characters!
Just about everything.
Locality as we had to visit people and places. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
Occasionally being treated as a "second class citizen" even though we paid the same as other people. Leisure complex (especially the Beauty Parlour) seemed a bit understaffed when we went to speak to someone there was no-one around.
Executive room Gym and swimming pool Food
Everything was just lovely and excellent value for money.
Radio 1 in the breakfast room. Who needs noise first thing in the morning? Peace and quiet is best.
lovely bar, great food, pleasant staff
rooms were a bit dated, would have said 3 star not 4
Clean and comfortable.
We were shown to our room, a small ensuite double, but on testing the bed we found it unusable. We explained this to the receptionist who apologised and upgraded us to a much larger room. We have two dogs and they were also able to use our new room. Great service. Breakfast is good too!
Food restaurant limited bar food not available due to disco had to drive quite a way to eat good let it down
Lovely setting, staff was great.
Difficult to find
The Leisure Centre (swimming pool, sauna, ...)
The whole hotel is quite old. In addition, the isolation of the rooms is very bad so you can be disturbed by the loud music from the gym or just by other guests talks in the corridor.
The excellent accommodation. We were given an upgrade to beautiful rooms. The food was superb. The area was wonderful and lots of places to visit.
