We loved the friendliness, courtesy and efficient manner of all the staff, where attention to detail appeared to be second nature. The bedroom overlooking the flower bedecked courtyard wad of good size with a spacious bathroom with plenty of hot water for baths and showers.
Everything about it. The pool, bar, food, location, the staff.
Only the 2 things I found fault in was a large crack in the bathroom ceiling which needs attending to & the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work.
The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the bar food and the Crown and Cushion beer. Nice little swimming pool.
The changing area at the swimming pool needs refurbishing.
Location, best in little town of Chipping Next door to nice pubs and walks Staff was really nice and helpful Breakfast was great The building, courtyard and typical English style
It might need a little refurbishment and cleaning up, but is ok...
The pool Friendly staff parking
The Carvery - roast potatoes were like leather (although looked crispy). Breakfast - only 1 member of staff so everyone waited for their tea/coffee - and the buffet ran out - so we waited for replenishment - they needed at least 2 people to cater for the number eating. Lots and lots of steps everywhere - due to nature of building - so beware if you have difficulty walking - make sure you get the appropriate room.
The front entrance and lounge were lovely, and the reception staff were really helpful.
The room I stayed in was at the front of the hotel and the traffic noise kept me awake. The room was so small that the chair in the room was below the TV so I couldn't sit on it. There was no glass in the bathroom to rinse teeth and the cup with the tea making facilities was chipped. The duvet cover was also stained on the outside. I was really disappointed with this hotel.
Staff very friendly good food at very good prices enjoyed a swim before dinner
Couldn't think of anything
Plenty of character, staff helpfull and friendly
Breakfast below standard
Comfortable, good bar and other facilities.
Menu for bar and restaurant needs makeover. Also fish and chips disappointing. Cod turned out to be haddock and batter not crisp.
Staff were very helpful and quickly got a bucket , glasses and ice.
No air conditioning
The hotel was ideally situated, lovely rooms and bar/restaurant very nice and quaint.
Parking was diabolical, even signs were ignored! Wi-fi code given but still no access! Staff can hardly understand English let alone speak it!
Nice rooms shame we only had one night...
Breakfast items not cooked enough ie sausages still pink & albumen on eggs not cooked (still raw ) shame because everything else was fine....
Location is good. Good Breakfast.
Small room at the front of the hotel with a double glazed unit window that wouldn't close properly. This meant a lot of noise from the road and the nearby Blue Boar pub.
Staff arranged to collect us as there were no taxis available which was very nice, location was good for the area and the facade of the building looked attractive.
Room at the end of a car park, dated furnishings, poor mattress and bed which moved every time you turned over, drip stains on the wall and the phone was dirty. It was late when we arrived and the light had gone out where our room was so we had to negotiate the landing and the stairs in the dark which was dangerous. I was disappointed by the toiletries provided I expect more for my money.
That the staff could accommodate our disabled mother / mother in law.
internet signal was a bit weak in the bedroom
Location convenience the main point for me, food and staff overall was good.
The hill climb to my rooms
location and facilities
staff were slow and rude I had to request an apology from management in relation to an incident with a member of staff. Would not recommend
Location, ambience, value for money.
Parking a bit tight.
Staff, value, food
Historical place. Amazing circumstances.
The employees are to closed. No friendship, no emotion.
Lovely character bedroom (no 22) Nice swimming pool
Limited space in car park Poor showers in swim pool Noisy systems running at night/early morning
Plugs were not where needed. Chefs served up portions that were far too large and the wastage was enormous. The minute steak baguette came a huge salad and a large portion of chips. Not the light bite it was supposed to be.
Breakfast was ok although you had to search for clean plates.
Staff had a very unhelpful attitude at times bordering on aggressive. We were not the only ones to be muttering "Fawlty Towers". We returned just after 11 one night and the back entrance was very badly signposted. Our key let us through the door which had been open the night before however the inner door was locked. We called the receptionist who came to find us after about 15 mins. He then proceeded to shout at us for using the wrong entrance! I have stayed in many hotels and I have never been treated aggressively by staff before. We did not complain to Management at the time as we did not want the same treatment again and we didn't want it to spoil our break.
Ideal for visiting the Cotswolds
Poor wi fi connection.
