Some staffs you couldnt understand poor language skills need to be clearer. had to ask a few times to repeat what they were saying. on lleaving in the morning front entrance odour of bleach when they washed the floors not pleasent. lots of holes in bathroom tiles no toiletries
The price for B&B great
Carpets could do with being replaced in some areas
Nice location in the village Breakfast was good
Bit run down. Bed wasn't very comfy mattress was very thin and covers same. Very basic. Booked hotel as it had a gym and on arrival was told gym not open! If known would have gone elsewhere. Receptionist wasn't very friendly
Characterful pub/hotel in the high St with parking at the rear. Good food, quiet location, excellent value. There was a strong cleaning product smell in our room but the staff were very accommodating and moved us to a nicer, larger room at no extra cost. Would stay again.
Staff could not have been more friendly, helpful and accommodating of our needs. Would recommend the Crown & Cushion for a short break in the delightful Cotswolds.
Staff, service and food. Excellent location
Booked because it had a gym but was closed - they said it would re-open each day but it never did. Car Park is very tight with limited spaces and it is hit and miss every time you come back as to whether you will get in or not.
The food was very good , nicely cooked and plenty of it. Hotel warm and cosy.
Bedrooms could do with a lick of paint but very comfortable just the same
A great location in Chipping Norton..a nice small town on the edge of the Cotswolds. Some nice pubs nearby. A lovely little swimming pool. Free parking. Nice quiet room and pretty four poster bed but only standard double size. Good breakfast.
I requested a bath in my four poster room but this was not provided and the 'free toilettries' consisted of two basic shampoo sachets which were not replaced on day 2! A gym was also listed as a feature but we were told this was out of action when we asked where it was. All the staff but one were Eastern european and very friendly but inevitably some small language issues. Breakfast could have been made a little easier with labelling and cutlery by the buffet.
It was a lovely cozy hotel.
I wanted an extra piece of bedding as i was cold but the items provided in the wardrobe was dusty and scratchy. The TV was on the small size and reception on it wasnt good as it kept freezing.
Location clean good value
Rooms were cold wifi in and out
disappointed in the town of Chipping Norton - we expected a nice Cotswold town - not the fault of the hotel of course
The central location was excellent; therefor easy to find. The age and charm of the property with it's interesting history was a plus. The breakfast and staff were very good.
The receptionist was no where to be found when we arrived and there was also another couple waiting. She was nice, but seemed quite stressed. Our room was nice, but cold - radiators not working - they did provide us with a small fan heater though. Also the phone was not working and a couple of light bulbs needed replacing.
Booked this mainly because it claimed to have a fitness room. It turned out to be closed till further notice. If I'd known I'd have gone somewhere else for cheaper. Also supposed to have wifi in room. It worked when I checked in but later in the evening it stopped working. Tried to call the front desk with the room phone, which didn't work, so used my mobile and fellow there didn't do anything useful. Wifi still not working in the morning. Above reasons are why I won't stay here again.
Friendly bar and restaurant staff Lovely food Free access to pool and gym! Pretty area No noise from High Street Comfy bed Clean rooms.
Receptionist was not very communicative When asked for another towel as one was dirty we never received.
The quaintness of it.
All of it.
Staff were very unapologetic, with the complaints I made about our room being dirty, smelly and not what we paid for. They were not willing to compinsate in any way any did not feel remotely upset about what we complained about. Our stay was uncomfortable and we could not wait to leave.
The fact that it is in Chipping Norton which is lovely.
The staff. Receptionist was brusque and distracted by everything else. The waiting staff were APPALLING. Management seem out of their depth and indifferent.
Old fashioned building. Individuality of rooms. Location. Free parking Friendly staff
Breakfast service quite slow and food not that hot.
The staff were very helpful.I found it good value for money. Its location made it very central in the town and great for travel to the local area.
PARKING COULD BE DIFFICULT WHEN THE HOTEL IS FULL
The location was excellent
Staff did not understand us. Not everything for breakfast was available. No hairdryer in the room, I have never known that before even in a hotel with a lesser rating. Very disappointing.
