The bath is huge!
Lovely stylish hotel value for money in an English historical setting. Lovely
No hairdryer in room. No tv control in room. No breakfast room service
Linda on reception friendly and helpful. Good and extensive choice at breakfast.
Pool too cold to use, heating in bedroom went off but there was a portable fan heater in room which helped during the very cold weather.
Me and my mother stayed to visit family and we were pleasantly surprised by the service, facilities and the location everyone was extremely polite and helpful.
No suitable place to plug the kettle
Everything - do not go there! Swimming pool was not open altough it was the main reason for booking, our four post bed room was outside the main building, had to stroll through cold weather to main building for breakfast, room needs refurbishment, TV in a small room, but usually peoples watch TV in a bed while at a hotel. Overall its not an 4 star hotel they call themself. Wont recommend to others.
The buffet breakfast could have been hotter and the lighting in the bedroom could also have been better.
Location, ambience, value for money
Rooms a little cold
The staff were extremely good and very friendly. They made us feel welcome.
The buffet breakfast was just warm when it should have been hot. Everything was self service & I think there should at least have been a pot of tea served. Staff were present and had very little to do.
room was very nice lovely and warm nice shower breakfast was excellent and great service by the staff
Very nice friendly hotel and good location
I booked this hotel as it had a squash court and gym neither of which were in use. Swimming pool was good but the showers were stone cold
What a fantastic place to stay hospitality was first class
Staff very helpfull and friendly, very dog friendly, we were allowed to use the fire escape to get the dogs in and out of the hotel. room was a good size, and comfortable. we had a steak meal in our room which was very tasty and not over priced.
could have done with two chairs in the room as my husband had to sit on the sette and eat his meal off his knee. room could do with updating but feel this was reflected in the price. will stay again
Basic value for money was good. Room clean, pool available, breakfast good.
Heating could do with coming on earlier than 9pm in the room in winter. Could do with soap in the bathroom.
lack of maintenance
Room, food excellent and helpful staff. Location is just right
Television quality poor with some channels missing, buffet breakfast not hot
the staff were very friendly and professional the room was big nice and warm and very clean did not have dinner but breakfast was very good plenty of choice
Food was excellent. Beautiful period coaching house. Excellent service.
Uncomfortable beds and too many stairs.
Location good, nice building, bar and living room
Breakfast could be fresher. Our room could do with updating no 42
Helpful staff, a large room with good facilities in a very good location for shops, bars and restaurants.
Swimming pool, cosy bar and excellent breakfast.
Spoke to staff about the gym which needed some improvement to the equipment. This we understand is planned to be looked at soon.
Food in restaurant excellent Cosy bar with fire Lovely cosy atmosphere
It was in a good location right in the town centre. The service was good and the food was hot and promt.
We liked the comfort and the quietness of our room. We also liked the evening meal and the breakfast
The bathroom, although spacious was poorly designed. Very weak T.V. signal
Excellent staff. Warm greeting from front desk. Hospitable inside the attached bar area. Good home made food in the evening. Warm and very cosy for a December evening. Lovely shower when warm water finally came through.
Bed had a board at the end which being 6'7" meant I had to sleep with feet out of bed at angle. There were no other alternative rooms to overcome the problem. Water in basin was tepid on evening and first thing in morning. Breakfast was poor. Very limited fruit choice. Poached eggs hard and toast under toasted.
