Clean comfortable recently refurbished rooms, spacious modern en-suite
the hotel was in a lovely location the food and the ale were exellant as were the staff. i would stay here again anytime, maybe a holiday with my wife. great thanks
having to get up early for work.
Great location, nice pub/restaurant, good room.
Staff slack or uninterested. At breakfast we sat at an unwiped pub table with torn beermats from night before and were asked "would you be wanting cereal with your breakfast?" suggesting that we were asking for special treatment if we said yes.
The location of the hotel was in a nice quit area not to close to busy traffic.staff friendly and welcoming.
Service at breakfast was a little poor because there was only 1 staff work in at that time.
Good price. Basic facilities.
The room could have been a bit cleaner, especially the bathroom. The bed was very hard.
helpful staff and really good food, room has everything u need and is really clean, will stay again for sure
The range of beers on offer is excellent.
This is the second time this year we ve stayed. First time was bad enough but are prepared to give any where a second chance especially the the land lord says he knows the place was tired and they were in the process of revamping the rooms. As I said last time it costs nothing to clean the room. It badly needed a good clean 6 months ago, free wifi is available NOT I managed 5 minutes before I was booted off, spare pillows and blanket can be found in the wardrobe NOT we unfortunately had the same room again and nothing had changed. We were even more disappointed this time to find the bed had fresh sheets on but apart from that it looked like the room (bathroom included) hadn't been touched since our last stay. Over all if your a student or backpacker fine but for people looking for CLEAN accommodation don t bother. Most places go in daily to freshen your room not here. Didn't complain because the attitude last time was oh well if you don't like it you don't have to stay. We won t be giving this place another chance
The staff couldn't do enough to help. Room was clean and comfortable and the bar was well stocked with real ales and ciders
the shower didnt work too good not enough pressure and the water was cold. rubbish not cleared from outside room
Clean and comfortable room Polite and helpful staff even with a wedding reception in full flow. The fan on the ceiling was a good idea given the heat.
Wasn't informed of the wedding reception on the same evening. Rather noisy. Good job I had my ear plugs. Mould in the shower cubicle Needs a chair to sit on not the leather seat provided. The picture advertising the hotel is very misleading.
What a great selection of Ales. Food, drink and atmosphere was superb!
qualities of Beer and whisky Shelve had a great selection.
I got there around 9.30pm and it was not a warm welcome with my keys put down on the counter and I had to ask what room and where it was.I ordered Breakfast and came down to a blackout with no staff around and no food.I had to leave my key and come back to pay the bill.
We were greeted by name as soon as walked through the door. The staff were very friendly. The room was lovely, the only down side was the bathroom and we understand they are redecorating them in the near future. The food was amazing, my husband had a steak from the butchers block choosing the size he wanted. Everything is from local suppliers. Would definitely go back.
The bathroom was a bit grotty.
I like all of it breakfast was very good
lovely location. clean..staff friendly lots of choice or food and range in the bar! excellent nights sleep
the food very good, room was a bit pokey ,but clean ,tidy .the en suite was a wee bit cramped ,had trouble getting past sink to use loo and sink had big star shaped crack-but sure they had it on a jobs to fix list
he worked hard ,the boy ,needed a another pair of hands with brekky, but he was extermely polite and helpful
The food was exelant and the staff friendly
The bed was hard
Great beer, great staff, good food, including half time grub while watching world cup! Clean comfy room.chatty locals
The food was reasonable. The range of beers was good.
The rooms were minute. The place just felt dirty and having breakfast felt like you were imposing on the staff.
Good and comfortable. Food good.
Could do with a revamp on bathroom, but apart from that enjoyed my stay
The 1am curfew- we are unaware of this until we arrived.
Great food & Drink - Best pint of Bear in ages
Friendly atmosphere, good bar, attentive staff, tasty and well cooked breakfast. Good value for money.
Hard pillows, very small bed and tired decor in the bathroom.
Food was excellent Service was excellent Nice Bar/Lounge area Room was a good standard
Shower pressure was low Lack of TV Channels to choose from.
Selection of real ales in the bar. Bottled water and fresh fruit in the room. Tea and coffee making facilities.
The room and bed were small but ok I guess for one night and considering the price. There wasn't anybody to check me out at 8 o/c in the morning although I guess that wasn't a problem as I hadn't added anything to my bill.
