Cambridge City Hotel  

The staff were friendly, courteous and always ready to assist with any problems ie. providing a portable heater when the central heating failed. The Breakfast was first class, hot and very tasty.

The menu was rather limited, nevertheless I enjoyed the Lemon Sole which I had every evening. It would have been nice to have had a greater choice of vegetables

Rooms and Breakfast

Water supply to the bathroom was inadequate. Hard to get a shower, hard to balance water temperature in sink

Location was great, breakfast excellent, and comfortable bar area to relax and enjoy drink.

The water pressure in the bathroom was far too minimal, both running water, shower and flush not sufficient for usage.

Room was comfortable and of good size

Shower could do with some improvements ,not much power

Attached room to family & young baby. Requested change room but none of equal cost available. Woken at 4am with baby crying! Didn't get any benefit from night away to rest!

What's not to like? Great place, great situation.

The buffet breakfast toaster, get something that does decent toast please!

Room comfortable and food is good

Better than expected. Centrally located, grand entrance with bar that serves excellent cocktails. I conducted several interviews in the bar area without issue, large space with plenty of character.

A little dated, parking was expensive as was the WiFi. Water wasn't hot enough and no mini bar.

The staff were at all times very friendly and helpful. The breakfast area was well sized for the number of rooms therefore there was no waiting and the scrambled egg was the best we have tasted at any hotel in the world.

Repairs in the bedrooms were a little botched.

Prompt service with a high level of professionalism from all staff at the hotel. The room I stayed in was a standard double- it was spacious, comfortable and peaceful. If you arrive by car they will park it for you at a price of £18 for 24hours.

The internet is £10 for 24hr access. I got an internet access code from the front desk. The web access page is awkward and I ended up paying twice as it was unclear and wasn't connecting (I never even entered any bank details). To be fair to the hotel they did remove £10 from the bill after my stay as they could see I had paid twice for the same 24hr period.

Position Friendly Staff Excellent breakfasts although there was no marmalade on the first morning!

The fact that the beds were not made when we returned to the hotel although it was 4 o,clock.

The location was excellent.

The room we stayed in was dark . It overlooked the reception area . But we needed the lights on and then for privacy had to close the curtains.

This hotel was just right for my needs.

The staff were very helpful, the hotel was central but quiet, the room was clean and spacious.

Our window overlooked an area covered with air conditioning pipes, fans and outlets. All around were other rooms. We could only see a patch of sky if we looked up. The hotel was expensive but there was no free wifi (£8) and parking cost £18 a day.

Very good location. Various choices in breakfast. Comfortable bed.

We booked a double room but had a twin room. I think a twin room would be much cheaper whilst we paid for a double room! We were just too tired to ask for a change after a long journey.
