Great location and grounds Rooms ok but a bit small. Well away from civilisation - which is ok if you can a meal
Unable to get a meal on arrival at 8.45. Would have been earlier but for Post Code issue. Bar meal was offered but bar not attractive and a 45 minute wait Eventually had room service which was ok Staff didnt seem interested or concerned Not cheap for a very poor experience Breakfast ok and pretty standard but layout not good. Ran out of staple foods and had to wait
Great hotel in wonderful surroundings . Rooms are of really good standard . Would defiantly stay here again and recommend it to friends and colleagues . We stayed in London the night previous and paid more for the rooms of what you could only discribe as a flee pit in comparison . This hotel was a very welcome surprise .
Nice open grounds, lovely rooms and shower facilities. Great little gym and pool enclosure. Friendly and helpful staff.
Whoever decided that £20 a head for a buffet breakfast is a good price should have their head examined. A plain and simple rip off.
The room was lovely and clean with a few extras for comfort
There was no jacuzzi the spa was pretty basic
Setting was beautiful, good value, comfy bed, everything we needed in our room
Within in newly refurbished room we had a cracked mirror door with gaffa tape on. In our bathroom our extendable shower mirror was not there! These didn't trouble us too much as we just needed an overnight stay. However when we went to the restaurant with our children 23 & 25 we had the worst service we have ever experienced. We are not usually a family to complain but feel the hotel really need to know. I cannot detail all events as there were so many, shocking and unbelievable and spoiled our stay in a lovely hotel :(
comfortable beds lovely grounds, good location
lack of reception staff at busy check in and check out. Bar staff too few of them and inexperienced. Abusive staff in swimming pool to my grand daughter 2 dirty foot prints on floor as unable to get to shower to wash them off first did not warrant being shouted at by staff. decking not cleaned sunday morning until we were sitting out on it lunch time. food in restaurant not value for money, much better in the bar area.
Staff pleasant and friendly.
No free wifi. (spent 6 weeks in hotels in Italy, London, York, Hathersage and windsor and this was the only hotel that charged for wifi!)Parking too far from hotel.Rooms extremely small. No room for luggage, could barely walk around bed, also too small. (double! should have been queen or King.)
The setting was very peaceful and calm, the woodland was spectacular... The room was fantastic and the bed was huge, the food was excellent everything was excellent, can't wait to go back! But do try and get the spa booked as early as possible as spacers are snapped up pretty quick!
We like everything about this hotel. The initial impression was great. Coming up the drive that opened up to a large stately house. Very impressive!
If I had to complain about something, it would be the fact that my hot starter at dinner was served on a COLD PLATE! I did mention this to the waitress but I felt that she did not handle my complaint well. She was a little sarcastic and asked, when my main course was served, 'is the plate hot enough' I did not appreciate that! However the food itself was superb.
Pretty much nothing for £150 a night
- The quality of food was atrocious. We had breakfast only for one morning but enough to leave a very negative impression - Windows in the rooms can not be opened making it very difficult to breathe - The air conditioning is impossible to turn off and it is very difficult to sleep as the noise can be heard throughout the night
The food at the restaurant was fantastic. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Would use again if in the area.
Our toilet seat was broken when we arrived but they sent 2 DIY men straight away who fixed it.
Loved my stay here. I went for my birthday. Beautiful grounds, lovely staff- we woke up late and just missed breakfast by 5 min, we went to the restaurant anyway and they happily served us breakfast (what was left of it) and didn't charge us!!! Thank you for a beautiful stay.
I think it could have been a little cleaner in the communal areas (just a little more attention to detail around the window ledges, and places like that) I am a clean freak so maybe no one else would notice.
Decor was lovely.
Rooms were small Breakfast was cold
Comfortable well furnished room, comfortable bed
Very expensive breakfast, only fairly good choice. Staff not quick at clearing despite many of them
Location Setting Shower Food
Took 1/2 hour to check in with only 1 staff member at the desk Air conditioning in the bar was so cold we went back to our room early both nights just to get warm The prices at the bar were ridiculously high, costing £10 for 2 drinks Bar menu mainly burgers or sandwiches, not a great selection Pool in the spa was too cold There was no jacuzzi which let's it down and the shower outside the sauna was broken so you couldn't shower before getting into the pool Only 1 bathrobe our bathroom when there should have been 2 Sink in our bathroom didn't drain properly
Good customer service great venue
TV checkout difficult to work!
bar staff friendly gym/pool setting beds
decor small window are/restricted view
Beds great .
Rooms to small, young untrained staff with no product knowledge very expensive breakfast un drinkable tea and coffee afternoon tea advertised but when ordered we are told the staff were to busy so we ordered nachos with pulled pork which was so small we sent it back. Poor food dreadful service.
Location and grounds. Staff friendly and helpful.
Looks "tired" in modern part of hotel Very small bedroom and ill functioning aircon, no opening windows, so just too hot! Expensive but less than average quality food in restaurant. Generally poor value for money
You have the wrong postcode on your website which meant that our break did not get off to a good start, however the hotel more than made up for your error.
Fantastic modern interiors. Superb leisure facilities. Beautiful setting.
Clean, Quiet, large enough room. bar meals where good, breakfast good. Really liked the 12:00 check out time.
pink carpets in the corridor. bathroom extractor fan not working, shower controls not clear. ( not with my eyes)
Shower Breakfast Spa Grounds Pool
Small room Stains on bathroom ceiling Unable to open window, stuffy room
Modern hotel with good facilities -gym, pool, sauna and steam room. Had meal in bar which was good value and good atmosphere. Had king size bed which was really comfortable
More choice at bar menu. Didn't eat breakfast or in restaurant so can't comment on that. Was lacking a jacuzzi in the pool area
