We were very pleased with this hotel. We got a good rate online, we found it easily. We were able to check in early. The room was lovely with very nice details. The view out the back is beautiful, with swans swimming on the river. Super

On arrival the reception staff were very helpful, the reception and areas were modern and comfortable, our room was also very good. The staff assisted us in locating the route of the Reading Marathon because we were there to support fundraisers who were running for a local boy with lukemia. Could'nt get served an evening meal as they were short staffed.

My wife was attending a painting course a Mapledurham. We arrived on the Friday. Unfortunately, my wife was sick on Saturday and we had to cut our weekend short. The hotel was very understanding and charged us for only what we had consumed. Whilst I find the explanation of the source of the foods used in the restaurant is laudable I wonder whether each hotel could make more use of products local to its situation. For example in the Reading hotel, the beef was from Scotland but could easily have been sourced locally from Oxford. The fish from Brixham in Devon, surely not the closest fish market even at Reading. There is a regular farmers market in Reading because the land in Berkshire is primarily agricultural and yet the fruit and vegetables came from Covent Garden. Worth considering, carbon footprints and all that.

I stayed at the hotel through the Christmas period and was pleased to find the hotel operating as usual, quiet and comfortable. I dont like being charged for the full amount for a stay of 4 nights several days in advance when making bookings through Booking.com. It was not as if I secured a discounted rate in return. It seems to be the usual practice.

Lovely location, close to all amentities. Well equipped spa/gym facilities, All areas very clean, welcoming staff, Nice breakfast in a roomy restaurant area, with beautiful views. Good value for money. Would definately stay again. Expensive drinks at the bar. Charged £2.00 for very small bottle of coke, not even big enough for two mixers.

Not a great deal other than breakfast Navigating the corridors is a nightmare due to lack of adequate signage. Floor 2: No directions to lift / reception. Secure car park not secure due to electric gate not working.

The location was good to the station and the shops. The receptionist was very unhelpful when we had a mix up in reservations and put us in a disabled room when others were available. Had room service breakfast and the poached eggs were stone cold. Had to send the waiter back twice first because he forgot the butter then again when he had forgotten the cereal. Hardly the romantic breakfast in bed we had planned for our anniversary. Then we had no hot water for the day with no communication or apologies from the hotel. The pool was chilly as was the jacuzzi. Not really the spa experience we were expecting.

Located on the River Thames, great location for getting about & access to rail/air network yet close to city centre. Friendly staff & the minimum of fuss & bother. Very secure & good facilities. Never had to wait for anything. When we arrived & departed with a lot of bags there was no porterage. Exec lounge needs more frequent attention.

The hotel was chosen for its posistion adjecent to the Reading Rowing Club where we were attending a family reunion.. The hotel did all we wanted to make our visit very enjoyable. Allthough we were first to the breakfast table the hot food had allready begun to have that"cooked a longtime ago" attitude. I realise that this is a problem for everyone but it certainly spoilt my favourite meal.

We enjoyed the whole stay at Crowne Plaza whilst attending the Rewind Festival at Henley-on-Thames. The hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff were very friendly and our overall stay was a pleasurable one. A 5 star hotel for a 3 star price!
