The food and facilities
The WiFi is horrible unstable. If that's the quality you offer because it's free, I'd rather pay and get a stable one than get this. Also, your king size beds are basically 2 single beds joined together, creating a gap in the middle that shoves into the person's back. That is horrible and should not be how king size beds are.
The hotel itself was pleasant: clean and comfortable which is all we needed for a one night stay. The majority of staff we encountered were friendly and polite.
The food was overpriced and underwhelming. We mistakenly thought breakfast was included in the price; when we were told at the Reception desk that breakfast was over £16 per person, we decided to go elsewhere. I turned back as we left and saw the staff on the desk sniggering, which was unpleasant. I also heard a receptionist greet a guest at check-in with a 'you alright?', which I was quite astounded by.
The Club room is a must, best breakfast at a "big name" hotel ever! Facilities are fantastic.
Their "preferred" taxi service needs to be avoided. We were dropped off at wrong venue, and felt we were well overcharged. However, we can not fault the hotel at all.
welcome at reception bar prices foyer comfort
having to leave other than that we loved it
Highly recommended Excellent pool, sauna, hot tub. Rooms were very comfortable Bar/restaurant area was very convivial and staff were extremely attentive. I was here for 5 days and it was extremely relaxing Definitely worth the premium in my opinion I plan to bring my family back for the weekend break as the location is superb.
Free Wi-Fi is available but the speed isn't great Couldn't fault anything else with the place
We requested a room with a view of the Thames, and as it was my birthday we were upgraded without charge. We'll be back again to visit my Son who's at Reading university. Thanks very much.
We went for the executive room which was excellent value for money - especially with drinks and nibbles in the executive lounge. We didn't try breakfast but I'm sure that was of the same standard as the rest of the hotel. It's a little out from the Oracle about 20 mins walk but if you go across the bridge to Caversham there are also lots of restaurants.
We stayed in twin room it was lovely and the bed was so comfy. It was a lovely room.
We were disappointed there was no subtitles on tv for us cos we both are deaf. We could not follow the programmes what it was saying!!
Location to everything.
Fan loud for heating at night.
Loud music from party downstairs!
The room was lovely. The bed was great!
We did not have a great view of the lake This was our main reason for choosing this hotel.
Friendly staff, good service, comfortable clean rooms, and great breakfast choices.
Rooms which face the car park are above the services' bay. Unfortunately during our stay was woken by smashing glass at 5 30 am on Monday morning.
Nothing to dislike
Beds had very "lumpy" pillows
Loud music noise on Saturday night until 4:00 am from party boat moored close to hotel on the river.
Very clean and comfortable room. Good variety at breakfast, cold and hot. Plenty to do in the area, river trips, not far to visit historic houses and gardens and within walking distrance of a large town with a great variety of shops.
Everything, The staff are great, Lovely and clean place. Would recommend to anyone.
Nothing at all
Receptionist Jana friendly and helpful as was waitress in Bar and staff in restaurant at breakfast. Executive room in good condition well maintained and very comfortable.
Bathroom was small compared to size of room. Bathroom floor was grubby with stains.
Comfort and friendly helpful staff. We found it very relaxing; being next to the Thames and having easy access to Caversham was a real bonus.
Cheap and nasty toilet roll. The executive lounge seemed over-subscribed when we stayed, as we couldn't get in one evening and was very crowded the next (the carpet in there wasn't very 'executive', either!)
Great location, 5 minute walk to the station. Hotel backs onto the Thames with some nice views. Friendly staff and very clean. No complaints, our second time staying and proved a great base for anyone traveling onto Twickenham for rugby!
The cleanliness done it for me was so clean.. And the bed was extra company and I loved the spa! Enjoyed it very much would deffo come again
Put into a disabled room. Woken up by drunk guests banging on door during night. Kept awake by guests talking loudly well after midnight.
Comfortable clean room. Excellent pleasant location close to river. Plenty of choice at breakfast.
Would have preferred walk in shower as my wife has problems getting in bath.s
Staff were excellent so was the facilities. Breakfast very nice and overall a very nice hotel
the only thing I would say is I found the food and drink to be very expensive
Relaxed friendly atmosphere. Clean. Polite staff
Breakfast service was very good, Executive lounge with complimentary drinks and nibbles
Beds were tired, Lumpy and need changing
