Surrounded by picturesque Thames Valley countryside, this charming boutique hotel and restaurant is in the idyllic village of Cookham Dean, only a 45-minute drive from central London.
Score from 130 reviews Good
Waited an hour for room service, (30 mins was suggested wait time) called again to be told the order had not gone through to kitchen. Found shower products to be empty, not good when already wet. Room not cleaned until after 2pm Sat but couldn't get late checkout for Sun.
Comfortable bed. No noise or disturbance at night. Good taxi company Utopia who the hotel used .
Felt like a corporate business hotel. Not close enough to the town centre of Marlow - out in the sticks! Indoor pool looked like a council run swimming pool not a hotel pool/spa!
Not a lot
Bed as we. Had problems with our room
Breakfast time (Saturday),food & booking out time was very good
Staff were top draw and food was great
We were there over Christmas day period and the pool did not open until 10.00 am Too late. I can understand staffing issues but adults are hardly likely to drown
Buffet breakfast displayed no allergy advice. My boyfriend suffered severe anaphalaxis after breakfast and was hospitalised after a 999 ambulance team had to be called to the hotel. Steer clear. We have had no apology whatsoever.
Friendly and helpful staff, hotel facilities were brilliant and very clean. The food was really tasty and lots of choice. Large and comfortable bedrooms. A great night sleep and we didn't need to leave the hotel the 2 nights we stayed.
The food and drink was pricey, left no money to treat ourselves to a spa treatment.
We had a great time but the drinks were a bit pricey.
We were unfortunately woken by the fire alarm which was a false alarm. It would have been nice if there had been some communication from staff as this happened several times within half an hour at1a.m.I found this quite frightening being alone in the room.
Comfortable well equipped rooms
No water in the room nor in the mini bar !. TV did not work , had to move room in the early hours of the morning upon our return to the hotel!.. Breakfast is far too expensive !
Separate menu to order instead of standard buffet as I do not eat $25 worth of food in the morning. I would also like more elliptical machines in the workout area - the only 'elliptical' was very awkward to operate. The sauna and steam rooms were great but were too cold and not steamy enough. This is easy to accomplish. The pool was excellent. It would also be ideal to open on weekends @ 6 as most of us to business onSat and need to be out early on Sunday am and a workout would be great.
Buffet breakfast was ok - eggs broken and hard - and the scrambled eggs were very runny. I asked for poached eggs -they were VERY good! The tables @ us took along time to clean off so the area was sully while eating.
Clean,comfortable room. Good food.
Breakfast chef quite rude. Evening chef not very hygiene conscious.
The room we stayed in was quite spacious and modern. There were up to date magazines, including Tatler, to read, tea and coffee making facilities as well as hot chocolate, biscuits and a couple of bottles of a safe, iron and ironing board, executive desk and hairdryer which we found in one of the desk drawers. There was a separate shower as well as a bath with shower gel, shampoo, body lotion and shower hat. Drinks at the bar were quite expensive. The hotel was modern and contemporary. I would definitely recommend the hotel.
Drinks were quite expensive.
Two double beds a bit soft but comfortable. Parking close to door. Quiet location and nice entrance. Nice breakfast. Hotel is close to main road links.
Driving through industrial estate is off-putting, but once out, the road leading to hotel was nicely landscaped. The hotel reception is large and spacious but would benefit wit some paintings and softening. A little clinical.
Staff and facilities
The restraunt the menu was very limited and expensive for what was offered. The senior staff very good but juniors need more training
We liked the size of the room and there was a kettle to make tea or coffee . The staff was very nice and we enjoyed our stay
the fact that the door of the shower cabin didnt close ,we had to block it with a chair
the downstairs bar was great. Gave us an extra hour to enjoy ourselves after our work Christmas do.
Not easy to find your way around. Had to ask staff members on several occasions.
My stay was brilliant. The bed was the most comfortable that I have slept in at a hotel. The staff were friendly and polite. The food was exceptional. I will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to family and friends.
The staff were very accommodating and polite.
The hotel was freezing and extremely tired.
Room, bed, bathroom , quiet and outstanding friendly staff good inclusive breakfast Best hotel in Marlow !
You would have thought you had taken a wrong turning as the approach to this hotel is through a trading estate but once you get there it is a good hotel with decent facilities.
Close to Marlow and A404. Able to get access to our room early. Tasty breakfast omelette.
Asked for more milk in our room 1pm, 6pm and 11pm. Eventually had to collect it from reception. Also phone was not answered for at least 5 minutes when checking where it had got to at 6pm. Coffee ordered at breakfast didn't arrive. Drain in basin blocked.
Location, staff and cleanliness of the room
The pillows were of extremely poor quality and really uncomfortable
We loved the location and went for a couple of lovely walks along the Thames. The hotel was very relaxing and although we were only staying for 1 night we felt we had had a real break. The reception staff were very helpful and welcoming when we arrived. The breakfast was declicious
I loved everything
