Score from 128 reviews Very good
Loved the whole feel of the place and the location is excellent
Lovely country house hotel, excellent service, rooms very comfortable, good food and great location with ample parking.
I thought the room was very nice and I was particularly impressed with the bathroom.
I thought the evening meal was expensive. I didn't understand why the bill was broken down in the way it was on checkout.
steps and forecourt
Clean and comfortable. Lovely decor and furnishing's. Plenty of on-site parking. Friendly staff.
Breakfast is very average compared to other hotels I've stayed in recent years. Coffee not great either. Bar closes far too early in the evening.
excellent location in village, very comfortable hotel, lovely food and very pleasant staff.
We had a great evening here, very clean well put together hotel.
The room only had a small portable heater, so it was quite cold. The internet was also not that great.
Breakfast was excellent
Thought it was slightly overpriced
The hotel was in a good location, the staff were helpful and friendly and the room was clean and a decent size.
It was a very cold night and the room was cold.
Really loved the location. New forest is beautiful and great for walking. Food at the hotel was good and staff really nice.
The town itself, the building and the breakfast. Staff was ok
Room was tiny with no bath and with a not so pleasant view of an untidy back yard, food was just a bit better pub food - not a restaurant quality, there were fans buzzing around till 11pm making nasty noice. Internet was super slow, but that applies to all of the rural areas
Everything was good, quite helpful when I arrived and very pleasant staff
I received a ridiculous email from the manager afterwards, asking about my stay, which was headed " dear 'surname'".
Good friendly very clean good breakfast
Evening meal menu needs more choice
Bathroom facilities were excellent, very modern.
The guest who lost the plot running around smashing windows and setting the fire alarm off.........
The room was well equiped, very clean, and quiet, with a pleasant view over the hotel garden. The staff were helpful and attentive. Good location for exploring the New Forest.
The superior room was advertised as 35 square meters. It was about 25. Not a good start to our stay.
Staff, Cleanliness, comfort,privacy,character,ambiance
Tele did not work the whole time
Everything! Lovely hotel, lovely staff, lovely food. Beautifully decorated. What more could you want?!
Lovely hotel. Room was very comfortable and nicely decorated, staff were frfriendly and service was excellent. This was a surprise night away for my partner's birthday & he was impressed with the location & the hotel's appearance plus facilities .
Nothing to dislike
Good location, good breakfast staff Very friendly and room very clean .
Soya was available as requested
Smokers standing too near to the entrance
It was just a pleasant stay
Staff were really keen to help, and always polite and helpful. Room was spotless, bed was comfortable, check in and out prompt , bill accurate.
Air conditioning was not working (which it transpired was already known). No pre warning from reception that the air con was not working, which meant that when we returned to our room late in the evening, we had to open the window which meant that traffic noise (front of hotel room) was a disturbance. For a 4 star hotel I would expect a higher quality breakfast , not re constituted scrambled egg and over grilled tough bacon under a heat lamp The fresh melon was "crunchy" rather than succulent!
Great location and hotel had loads of character without being dated
Soudproofing was poor
