My wife and I stayed for two nights and at check in were given a free upgrade to a superior room which I have to say was excelent. The room was very pleasant, comfortable and with no problems from external or other guests noises. The bathroom was great (built in television) and I would have taken it home if it had fitted in the suitcase. Staff throughout all departments were pleasant, helpfull and well presented. We had breakfast and evening meal one night which we enjoyed. Overall, a very pleasant stay and I wouldn`t hesitate to both return and recommend to others.

Lovely Hotel,friendly staff and lovely cosy fire in the lounge with coffee and snacks, it was our wedding anniversary and we had a lovely time, and would love to stay again.

We liked the fact that the hotel was across the road from the sea and the Spa Complex where we were attending an event. Too cold to make use of the beach, but fun walking around. We had one dinner at the hotel which was fine. We also drove about a mile for dinner at Gianni's, a good Italian restaurant, and to see a play at the Stephen Joseph Theatre. The hotel gym is good and the saunas/steamroom area is very good. The big jacuzzi next to swimming pool was too cool and you had to wait a long time in between the jets working. The smallish pool was often crowded, so hard to find a time to do lane swimming. Hotel car park is small - you have to reserve a space in advance and pay £6 a day. The free parking advertised is on the street wherever you can find, sometimes quite a distance away. They give you a free parking slip to put in the window in case you're parking in a residential zone - good for 4 days.

Courteous and well trained staff, a comprehensive menu and excellent food. Room was clean and nicely presented. Bath towels too small (32" waist!). Morning paper requested but not delivered. Shower tepid and intermittently cold.

The spa area - pool, sauna, steam room were cold and not ready for use when opening at 8am, the experience was unpleasant and even the shower in the ladies changing rooms would not run hot. The cooked breakfast was cold.

Location. Spa and room after upgrade Only top floor had nice rooms ( Fit for the 4* status the hotel has!!) We complained that the picture of the room on Booking.com was nothing like the room we where 1st given.. Hotel said that they where not in charge of the booking web site so couldn't comment.. After paying another 30 pounds we went to the top floor (pic of room on web site) where the rooms where so much better and cleaner???? All other rooms on the other floors are not fit for the 4* status !!

Quite a good hotel and the staff were very good however we called a elevator to decend to the ground floor a hotel employee had been waiting for the lift when we arrived. When the lift arrived I stood back too allow the young lady to enter the lift, she insisted my wife and I used the lift as she was not allowed to travel in the lift with hotel guests. This strikes me as discrimination against a section of the community due to their position in life.

The hotel was very comfortable and in a great location. The food at the hotel was very good and the service natched this however the price for food was a bit on the expensive side. The room was kept clean and was very comfortable and the bathroom facilities were first class Price for food was expensive and the cost for breakfast was prohibitive.

Overall...very good The set in stone 3pm check in.....way too restrictive 1pm would be excellent 2 even is ok Dosent seem to be any flexibility on this even when requested. Will definately affect my choce of hotel next time
