The hotel is absolutely disgusting the bed was in a U shape the carpets throughout rooms and hotel are soaked in urine the windows are broken the TVs don't work the wallpaper is cello taped to the walls and the bathrooms are covered in mould and hair.
Hot water in room wasnt running, informed it would be back on in half an hour and it wasnt.moved to another room where there was hot water but the lack of pressure meant we could only have a wash, not a proper shower.
its cheap and near to where I work
Towels not changed had to ask 3times
I have stayed here before and in comparison to last time I have seen a massive improvements. The bad reviews really don't do this place justice as the new manager has done a lot to change things around. Here are some of the improvements: The rooms were cleaned daily. Hot showers Clean towels and new soap everyday Breakfast is now available Not ONE bedbug...good job. Friendly staff Overall would definitely recommend
Walking in and randomly bumping into homeless people..definitely not an issue to me...but I can imagine it would look strange to a group of people or a family.
It's cheap and cheerful and based on previous reviews I was expecting very little.. The decor is a bit tired but has character.. the staff excelled in every department
Based on price I couldn't fault
The hotel is under new management who are making every effort to turn it round and appear to be having success. One small problem was immediately addressed without fuss.
The building had character with its winding staircase. There is a Tesco direct-you will need it! Good car parking facilities.
The room was a box room and they fitted a lumpy old double bed and not clean.....bad bad night trying to stop the springs digging my ribs! The bathroom left you with a sense of feeling dirty even though you have just had a wash-would not enter the bath or shower far too filthy (take your own bathroom cleaning products). There was hair allover the bath and on the floor. The radiator wouldn't turn off and the place was like a sweat shop- so slept with the window open. If you want to watch TV in room 104, forget it - it switches off randomly. The bar area is shameful as there are about 20 bottles of WKD and half a bottle of Vodka, whiskey and gin, then you got your pints. There are residents in the building and me thinks that this is a halfway house for the homeless on benefits. There is no life in the area after 5pm except wannabe kebab houses/take aways (not real Kebab houses like Turkish or Greek). There is a tesco direct which you could visit and hang out with the kids who rally their cars on a saturday night (if that floats your boat)? I reiterate - avoid Room 104 as it is a box room that they have squeezed furniture in, it does however only cost £25 per nite without breakfast and so rightly too, as the carpet had a big iron burn, room is in a poor state-very neglected.
Price is good, and spacious bar area. Not too far from snack bars and local shops.
Run down area. Rooms small and basic. Toilet wouldn't flush, and wasn't repaired.
Pleasant helpful staff
The few things mentioned in my review
located close to Longton station.
I found a used condom in toilet, disgusting!!! Heat is awful, i awoke up several times because of coldness.
The bedding was stained and smelt, the carpet had what looked like broken biscuit/marshmallow on the floor. Towels smelt of chip fat. The cleanliness in general.
You get what you pay for
Room was dirty bathroom was terrible door didn't even shut, bed was terrible, smelt like cigarette smoke all throughout the hotel
friendly very helpful staff central location free car park
my old pc could not connect to the free WiFi
Polite people that work there, warm rooms.
Smelly, very old, dirty pillows, noise from other rooms- stairs.
I liked that the staff seemed very friendly and eager to help. Also, the hotel was of a very affordable price. I was pleased there was a TV also.
You could feel the springs through the bed. Heating never worked- not good with a poorly child. Chest of drawers was broken. No lift or TV remote. No duvet for double bed, you'll obviously need two duvets for two beds. General level of quality needs to be raised! IIn turn will provide more income and popularity.
Pays your money.. Staff brilliant, we knew it wasn't the ritz but we're happy, it suited us But if you're 5 star it's not for you... Better than hostel
Nothing really, knew what we was getting.. VALUE FOR MONEY!
