Nothing it was awful, I would rather sleep in a tent on the floor than stay at this hotel again. It really was very dissapointing and I would advise that you take it off your website as it is a bad refelction on booking.com It was not clean, the bed was lumpy and the room was very hot and the windows only opened about an inch. The decor was very tired and the bathroom was disgusting. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I wouldnt stay in it again if you paid me!

The price was what attracted us to the hotel, it was cheap and was located half way on a long journey that we had to make over the weekend. The room was badly maintained, and the whole hotel was very noisy with other guests, doors slamming, trains and traffic outside etc. The floor boards creaked a lot and the whole place had a general feel of needing a huge renovation! I'm not a snob and wasn't expecting 5 star, but The Crown felt like a Hotel that was on its last legs as opposed to a bog standard, basic 2 star Hotel.

The price was brilliant and I was upgraded to a twin room as I arrived earlier than check-in, which was nice of them. Ladies Only parking spaces. Cooked breakfast only £3.50. Close to town. Close to Tesco ideal for fuel, food, extra teabags and real milk. The staff were nice enough. Free parking. There's no lift, and I was on the second floor. The second floor smelled like stale cigarette smoke. The tv had no remote. The beds were hideously uncomfortable. The room was too cold as the bed was placed right next to it and absorbed all the heat. Two teabags is not enough for a day, especially when there's two in the room. The car park is up a back alley with no rear entrance to the hotel. No Wi-Fi in rooms. Bathroom looked grimy and bath was tiny, as were bath towels, I'm 21 weeks pregnant and towel didnt fit round me. Normally had to wait for a receptionist. No big light, just three wall lamps. Wardrobe had detatched from wall and loomed over entry to the room, just didn't feel safe, it's fine, just a bit of a worry. Room was a bit cramped for a twin. Don't get me wrong, I'd consider using it again, but I wouldn't recommend it to people I like.

Everything in the hotel were perfect but a little concern on the nos of tea bags they left for guests. Leaving only 2 tea bags for two visitors for all night is too poor.

If you read other peoples reviews you would never go. Be real about this hotel, its cheap and has all you need for a nights sleep. Rooms where clean, hot water and a pleasant receptionist. Yes it was dated and in need of some tlc but we had a long journey to go to Alton Towers and it was just a place to sleep and have breakfast before a good day out. I would deffo use it again, easy to find and the car park was large, well lit and we had no problems finding it?? Mattresses could have been better.

No lift to the other floors, no telephone in room, the bed has gone past it's selling date. Needs some renovation but then for those who can't afford higher rates, it fits the bill.

I like staying at the crown hotel because it is very close to where my sister lives. The hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating if there is a problem, E.G. no heating which was dealt with staight away. The hotel is very close to all amenities in the local area. I have been coming to the Crown Hotel for quite a few years and would not go anywhere else and I would certainly inform other people about the excellent service it provides for it's guests. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for making my weekend breaks away very enjoyable and relaxing. This is not a complaint by I was disappointed that you had changed the breakfast arrangements, and that cereal, toast and tea were now not included.

The hotel was very untidy but for the the price I did expect this and would reccomend it to anyone on a budget. The hotel staff was really good and friendly and like to hva e a laught, sometiomes I felt they needed to tend to the customers need and not was the manager thought we wanted. A new paint job and attention to detail and this hotel could be alot better and even become a 3 star not it two it has now. The bar toilets were very bad and very unclean. thank you for a good stay
