Crowne Plaza London St James  

As we are expecting our first baby in 6 weeks, this was our last weekend getaway to London. We had a wonderful stay at the Crown Plaza. The location is excellent as it is only a few minutes away from Buckingham Palace. When we arrived at 2 check-in time, we still had to wait for 45 minutes to check-in as our room was not ready. Our first room was a refurbished room (the Standard rooms are prettybut very small) but had no view and was on the noisy side. We opted for a non refurbished room and had a lovely view overlooking the fountain area of the hotel. The non refurbished area of the hotel is on the tired side. Staff is very attentive and everyone makes you feel welcome! We definitely had a lovely time and would highly recommend the Crown Plaza. We will be back once our little one is born.

The staff were all exceptionally helpful and went out of there way to help with any enquiries we had. We will definately recommend this hotel to our friends and we hope to stay here again.

Standard room was a good size and bright and airy. Nice big bathroom and bathrobes. Lots of little extras - very god value and great location - a short walk to Westminster Cathedral, Houses of Parliament etc. Very helpful attentive staff - special mention to Carolina! Couldn't fault this hotel!

They were very friendly and twice that we had dinner in our room it was very delicious!!!!!!!!

the location of our room....in the night it was very noisy.....but i think this is luck...if you choise a central hotel!!!

Location .

Very old hotel. Would need to be brought up to a 4 star standard especially in corridors and rooms.

Although there was extensive refurbishments ongoing, we never felt any undue stress or discomfort / noise, on our journey through the hotel & also in the room.

Nothing to dislike, more like a few observations? 1. a dry heat in the room & unable to lower the thermostat passed 17* 2. slow drainage in the wash basin? 3. television a little small for the distance from the bed! (could be closer' for the older generation of course!)

The price of food! £23 for a Chicken Tikka & £20 for breakfast buffet when all I had was a single coissant, tea and a bannana (bruised). I was upgraded to a superiour room only to find that it was two single beds pushed together so felt more like a downgrade. I couldn't find a light switch by my bed so had to use the one by the door and the torch on my phone to get to bed. The Wi-fi isn't free.

Good location, within easy access to the underground, warm comfortable friendly hotel. Good size room, with a large comfortable bed. We were given a room upgrade as we were members of the Priority Club.

Staff was nice, good location.

I was given a lousy room on the second floor and te walk to the room was very far. Hallway after hallway until we found our little cold room back in the corner. Zero view.

Our son was there for the The Sun Military Awards and that was the reason we stayed. We normally would not be able to afford such a hotel but did so because of the occasion.

The breakfast was far too expensive. We are not averse to paying for quality, already having stayed in The Waldorf Astoria New York and The Bellagio Las Vegas to name just a couple but did not think the breakfast warranted the price charged.
