The staff were excellent, extremely friendly, helpful and had good local knowledge. 'Fred' on the desk by the front doors was most helpful and always had a smile on his face. The bathroom was a bit dated but the room was very clean and well appointed

There was building work ongoing which was a bit irritating. The view from the window was of a brick wall but as we were out most of the time it wasn't too much of an issue. I thought the price of breakfast was a disgrace. £18.50 is fine when a big company is picking up the bill, but for anyone paying from their own pocket it appears to me to be too much to ask. It gives the impression that the company is incredibly greedy out to exploit foreign tourists who don't appreciate the exchange rate. I refused to pay out of principle and enjoyed a fantastic breakfast at the cafe across the street for £4.70. It just took the edge off what would have been a fantastic stay. Given the location of the hotel they should ask for a bit extra for the room and provide a complementary breakfast.

The Crowne Plaza London St James is a beautiful hotel, in the most amazing location, close to many of the sites, an absolute treat to stay at a hotel such as this.

The location was wonderful. 5 minute walk to Buckingham Palace, 10 minutes to Westminister, 15 to Trafalgar Square or Picadilly or the Thames and boat access.

Hotel restaurant (51 Bistro) disappointing. Price does not fit qualityof food.

Service from start to finish was excellent and friendliness came across as genuine. Bed was lovely, room was quiet

All fine but herb tea in the bedrooms would be a nice touch.

The staff were excellent. Very polite and efficient. We had supper and only wanted to share something - no problem. They brought it as two small meals on separate plates. How many big "posh" hotels would do that ? Will stay there again.

Great location, friendly staff. Reception, foyer and Hamptons bar very nice.

Bedrooms very tired looking, towel rail coming off wall in bathroom, wallpaper in bedroom torn. Not what you would expect from a 4* hotel. Cost of breakfast very high.

I like the location of the hotel , its 5 minutes walk to the palace, and to the underground station. 15 minutes walk to London eye and big ben.

In the first night they gave me an old furnished room, after I complained to the reception about the room they transferred me another room which was much better. They still have floors not yet renovated and very old furnished.

I could not fault the staff or facilities available.

I had booked a twin room but on arrival found they had allocated a double room. When I complained it swas quickly rectified.

Location to theatre and transportation was excellent. The staff at concierge were extremely helpful with planning and directions. Also appreciated the use of the business centre. Would consider staying in this hotel again - particularly when I am in London for business trips.

Had a very satisfaction stay at hotel with very little I did not like. Although if I were to be extremely critical the only negative aspect would be the dinning experience I had in Bistro 51 as I thought the quality of parts of our meal (Ie the Appetiser) was not reflective of the cost.

The location was fantastic for access to the heart of London. I could literally see the top of the parliament building from my room. Underground station nearby as well.

I felt like it wasn't clean enough to deserve a five star rating, and the concierge staff were sometimes not very helpful.

The facilities were very good, friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. The service of the concierges was great. Some of our party had an upgrade to the suites, which they enjoyed very much.

The check- in was very inefficient, the communication between the different locations was poor. It took us over two hours to check in.
