Croydon Court Hotel  

I would like to state that this is not a review of the croydon court hotel, this is a review of the ibis hotel next door that we had to stay in due to renovation work at the croydon hotel

The gent on reception was very friendly, but after that it went drasticly down hill, the car park was a building site, the stairs up to the room were filthy, when entering our room, we were overcome by a horrendous stench of cannabis, you could just move around the room as it was so small and tight, when we checked the onsuite bathroom we were greeted by the previous occupants body hair, in the shower,wash basin and toilet seat, the health and safety of the hotel also left a lot to be desired, the wires for the bed side lighting was exposed ond the fire alarm had been covered by a plastic bag. Once again I want to state that this wasnt the croyden hotel, it was the ibis hotel next door that we had to stay in due to renovation work of the croydon hotel

I got room in Ibiza court as a upgrade from Croydon court Good Break fast Very close to Town center.

The room is very small, not enough room to stay with kids. The sharp edge of iron stand injured my kids hip.

I was transfered on arrival to the adjoining hotel and actually did not stay at the Croydon, all comments relate to the hotel I stayed at, unfortunately the name escapes me. Helpful, friendly staff, particularly in reception

Good service,clean rooms, everything required for a city break

There is a problem with cleaning the rooms. I stayed 13 nights, bedsheet was changed once and they hoovered the carpet just once after complain.

I stayed during the olymics. The staff were very helpful, we had got additional olympic tickets the night before, and we arrived at the hotel and needed to do a quick turnaround to get back to London for our event. They took our cases and stored them and assisted us to get back to the train station. When we came back after being out all day, we were able to get bar snacks until 9.30 pm. Pint of Kronenberg and a great curry for for £8.00 I would recommend the curry to conniseurs, very good!. The breakfast was a continental breakfast, with Activia yoghurts and Actimel probiotic drinks. There was sufficient food of a good quality, unless you got up late, they did not replenish the pastries and croissants after about 9.30. The bar/reception/dinning area were all of a good trendy standard. Our room was a little small, and I think was still being decorated, as they are modernising the hotel, we had a brand new very nicley done bathroom. Someone had put a spoon down the drain, and one pillow was insufficient, so I commented about the spoon as it was blocking the drain and asked for coffee sachets and two additional pillows, it was not an issue these things were all rectified upon our return.

For the money we paid, and the very poor comments on this site I was expecting the hotel to be bad, so we were prepared for a shambles, however were quite surprised. I always read the reviews good and bad and meet somewhere in the middle, as there are those who are easily pleased and those that nothing is good enough for. I would make a guess that the recent reviews for those who were moved to the Ibis are the type of guest who are never satisfied. All in all I have stayed in many 5 star hotelsl, this is not 5 star by any means, but it is most certainly not shabby or dirty and the staff are very polite and helpful. Remember, people react to the way we act, so be nice!

The road out

It is an awfull hotel. I think it may be used for dhss or refugees. We were "upgraded" to the sister hotel next door the Ibis something or other. Do not be fooled by the Ibis badge or the reception area.The owners of the group Accor hotels should be ashamed. My room was tatty with broken furniture,dirty walls, questionable linen and appliances that did not work. All in all a scruffy ,noisy worn out place and a rip off at fifty five pounds per night. My colleagues stayed in other rooms that were worse! . This is a disgrace of a hotel and I feel sorry for any visitors to the UK.If you have a choice go somewhere else.

We arrived to find we didn't even have a room in the Croyden! And were sent next door to the ibis style hotel.Glad we didn't stay in the croyden the entrance was grortty and it didn't help to see a lady with a bowl of water( (soaking bread) and her children running around . a family hotel is ok but thats taking it to the extreme. Don't go here!

Arrived at 10pm with prepaid booking. Desk staff took my name, then with no explanation picked up the phone and made a call, giving my details. He then put down the phone and told me we'd been 'upgraded' to the IBIS two hotels up the road. No explanation, no apology, no courtesy. Also a very shabby reception. Must have resold our room, and clearly had an 'arrangement' with his friend at the Ibis. the Ibis room turned out to be twin bed instead of double as ordered, and a disabled room with no windows, no air con, tiny bathroom basin (useless) and no soap/gel in the shower dispenser. A real sweat box on the second night. Complained next morning and was told it was the only room they had. Pathetic service from Croydon Court and Ibis Croydon. Underwhelmed, would not recommend either.

The out side looks very old and run down. Although I arrived early and knew I would not be able to check in. I went to check everything would be ok, As would be at a wedding all afternoon so would not be able to check in till late. At which point I was told that I had been upgraded. To a diffident hotel. Would have been nice to have been told!!!!! So was meant to be in croyden ended up in Crystal Palace. From what I saw, there attitude and there communication skills, Just don't bother staying!!!!!

Poor bedroom size, single rooms sold as double rooms and poor quality in terms of condition etc. Paid for an English breakfast and got cereal and toast! Changed the hotel to another on the same street on arrival, without an explanation. Although I had pre booked, the room rate seemed to vary from £40 to £75 for the same type of room.This was confirmed when my colleage tried to book another for next month and then subsequently tried to cancel that booking!

Hotel now taken over by Ibis and been revamped. Breakfast better but quite crowded. Room nice but small. Great value for money though if you want a cheap option in South London

thear were no Hot water in bathroom!!!!!

Had to spend 4 nights in this hotel without a television. We were not offered any discount for this, we were not even offered an apology. I would have expected some kind of gesture: ie- a bar meal or a couple of drinks, but we had nothing offered. Very poor customer relations if you ask me.

Hotel state seemed unclean and needed alot of building work

Staffs were wonderful! Very Clean and nice and quiet.

Need to improve WiFI internet so that we can use if we are on business trip. This is a negative for business people because of weak internet.

Although we were booked into the Croydon Court, we were actually told when we went to book in that we had been transfered to the hotel next door - Norfolk hotel. We were told this was an upgrade Our room was clean and staff pleasant

The breakfast was very basic - choice of 2 cereals and toast - but then the price was very reasonable for the 3 of us to stay

we were not let stay in the croydon court we were put into the norfolk hotel The staff were crap ignornant rude unprofessionall... security was terrible i was able to get a key for the room with out providing any information rooms were cleanish (screws were under the bed from carpenters) but terrible small crammed in we were our one request was a cot still had to ask for it then had to get extra sheets both were just dumped at the door had to assemble cot and dress it first room we were put in was waaaayyyy too small second one looked ok till the cot was up guys workin on the roof at 8am on saturday and 830am on sunday when we complained he said he would email me 11 days later still no word the bus shelter would be better at least u wont have any expectations

The room I had was adequate, it was clean and seamed recently refurbished. As they say you get what you pay for.

Unfortunately our stay at Croydon Court Hotels sister Hotel was the worst hotel stay we have ever had so we liked nothing!

The room was unclean and unsafe as a family room, the shower was cold, there wasn't even a chair in the room and the breakfast needs to be advertised as a continental breakfast as there was only toast and cereal offered.

The room was very small, no heating, only toast and cereal for breakfast and staff not helpful.

Fair Price for accomodation

You get what you pay for if you want posh its 100-120 up the road ,this is budget ,rooms need more attention to detail,(a good clean to some of the walls but if you want to be picky pay more)and go somewhere else.we were here for work so it was reasonable ,but it makes you wonder what the management staff are thinking because for couple of pounds to each room it coul change the whole thing .

Didn't actually stay here but was "upgraded" to their sister hotel - The Norfolk. One helpful member of staff behind the bar. Bar snacks were good value

The hotel staff were arrogant and ignorant. The hotel itself was not that comfortable- most of it been a building site, lift didn't work.

The shower room is very good and very beautiful.
