The location was convenient in Fort Williams and perfect stop over for the route we were taking. The view out the bedroom window was scaffolding and building works. There wasn't enough parking for all the residents. The shower was pretty old and a little moldy.

Excellent service by the female staff in the restuarant. Convenient for exploring the area. Bathroom never seemd to have been properly cleaned, bin full of previous guest's rubbish. Was woken every time the room downstairs turned on bathroom light as fan made our room floor vibrate & therefore the bed vibrated badly!

The old style of the hotel. Breakfast eggs were like rubber every morning no reason for this hotel was not that busy. The reason I will not stay there again is simply quality of food served was poor.

The Hotel is in a good location and has comfortable rooms and friendly staff. The dining room closed at short notice on days 2 and 3 of our 5 day stay so there was no restaurant for dinner. Refurbishment cited as the reason but little notice given. On day three there was no cornflakes or porridge at breakfast and just a shrug of the shoulders as the explanation. On last day they ran out of all types of 'bitter' at the bar. No further stocks due to winter closure in a months time.

The location was good and convenient for town with good views of the loch. The room and faclities were good. The evening meal was poor so we eat out 2 nights, one of which was when the reataurant was closed. The breakfast was ok but to run out of cornflakes was not good. The staff seemed disinterested but this may be due to the hotel closing in November for refurbishment.

very friendly, staff, in good location, very nice breakfast unable to use shower, as our bathroom window overlooked the carpark, there was no blind or curtain, duvet covers were too small for the beds, the towels were very small and not enough of them, and we had a problem with the electricity and were only able to put on two appliances at one time in the room or they triped , this left me concerned about the condition of the wiring system, however they are being re furbished next month and i hope these issues will be addressed

Location was great. It was fairly clean. Staff friendly but a little thin on the ground. Expensive for what you got. Shower didnt work well, was either too hot or too cold. The walls were extremely thin and you could here the couple in next room. Only had breakfast one day as it was pretty mediocre. The hotel will be closed soon for extensive refurbishment and I think it is long overdue. Musty smell in the corridors were off putting when you first walked in.

Handy for Fort William Terrible food, the soup could be eaten with a knife & fork, meat overcooked. Porridge could be used to repair the roads. Full English breakfast reasonable, egg bacon & sausage with 'extras' which was one small mushroom. Aweful coffee. Small room with a musty bathroom, very thin walls so a lot of noise up till 3.00am. Tables in bar sticky underneath. Impossibe to recommend with so many other excellent hotels in Fort William. Despite booking for 7 nights left after 2 but had to pay for 3 nights, it was well worth it

Very nicely positioned overlooking the loch. Hotel was clean and the staff were pleasant and generally helpful. Surprised by the modest cost of food in the restaurant. Although a simple and basic menu, the food was very well prepared. The rooms do not appear to have been sound-proofed very well. We were unfortunate enough to have a couple in the room above who talked, literally all night, and also paced the room regularly. Although they were not talking loudly, their conversation could be clearly overheard. Having put up with this from 10.30 until 4.00am, I asked the night porter for assistance. Although not entirely unsympathetic, he did shrug his shoulders and say "it's a hotel - what do you expect". He refused to ask the couple to quieten down so I did and they apologised. Nevertheless, they kept talking for another hour albeit more quietly. I hate to think what it would be like with a rowdy crowd !

Resturant staff were good food resonable 5Th floor stairs, no lift and was very difficult for my partner who is not 100% fit, I am over 70 and would not have booked had we known about very difficult accsess. Bathroom had 'bodged' seal around bath (white sealant over uncleaned area). Television was not working on most channels only two worked. Would not recommend this hotel.

Its not great when you over hear a guest asking reception to move a blocked in car so they can 'get out of this hell hole'. I'd have to agree. We booked on the basis that the family room would have a double and two singles. This was not the case.

Plenty of hot water! Hotel seems very old. Very noisey at night as in walls being paper thin. The guy in the room next door snored all night and he may as well have been in my room. Very creaky floorboards all over the Hotel. I could hear running water through the pipework all night!

The hotel was nice the place looked very dated but was ok for that part of the world all staff was ok not overly friendly apart from a lovely young lady on reception helped alot. Bar was nice, good pint but staff not always around had to go find staff to pour me a drink. Overall I'd give 3/5 wouldn't go again tho Lack of local staff mostly polish or Asian no one knew about local area. Couldn't find staff when needed a drink in bar. Not friendly but did what they were meant to do.

Staff were non-nationals and were generally surly. Facilities in room, shower etc were very basic. Room at rear of the building and very little natural light. Bar was expensive.

“The hotel is a ittle out of town, a 20 minute walk alongside the loch, or a short trip by car. There is a 44/46 bus runs about hourly too. The hotel is very pleasing to look at and well decorated inside, with all amenities and a very pleasant welcome from the proprietor. Breakfast was quite ample. We'll go there again.” Mr., Horsham |

The place is spotless and the breakfast cooked by Phil is very fresh and rich. Distillery Guest House is placed on the main route to Inverness so we found it very quickly.” Diana, Bucharest |
