Score from 135 reviews Good
The owners were extremely good, very friendly and made you feel at home.
There was a bit of noise when the next door bedrooms were occupied.
We liked our host. The relaxed country atmosphere. The home grown fresh produce for breakfast. The common lounges.
The private bathroom down the corridor. The shower not draining properly.
Owners very helpful and friendly
a little bit chilly at night
Not a great deal
Lack of Kettle and refreshments in room. Lack of TV in room. Lack of evening meal facility on site Shared bathrooms for other guest, misleading information whilst booking Breakfast very basic
Quiet location, friendly reception and service, excellent breakfast, comfortable beds and spacious sitting room.
We knew beforehand that wifi was only available in common areas, such as sitting room and we managed ok. Wifi availability in bedroom would have made the stay even more perfect.
Lovely surroundings Comfortable beds
Noisy house children running on the stairs noisy plumbing No TV or coffee making facilities in the room only communal area Only communal seating for breakfast & small breakfast Rooms were plainly decorated & chilly
Location excellent, peaceful setting
Paying for a twin room with 'private bathroom'. Didn't expect two halves of bunk beds at opposite ends of room with a double bed base, but no mattress between. Private bathroom was at the end of the corridor after other bedrooms.
Good value in a quiet location Breakfast excellent Lots of guides and information Walled garden to explore
TV in communal area
Near fantastic beaches with lots of provision for water sports boat trips, etc., and ST.Davids. Quite country, very peaceful location, lots of wildlife to see, . Fridge proved for storing own food, lots of milk, tea, coffee, etc, and biscuits provided, excellent breackfast with locally soucsed and grown produces.
Nice and quiet. Very good breakfast.
Bed was not comfortable. Overall the place is quite adequate but really overpriced, compared to other bed and breakfasts we,ve stayed at.
Quiet rural location in lovely Manor House with parking outside the front. Friendly staff with good knowledge of local tourist locations. Good choice of food for breakfast and of local beers and wine to drink in the evening. Although unusual having two large tables worked well to mix the guests up and get some interesting conversations going with sharing of experiences about where to go next.
My room did not have an en-suite bathroom and I had to use a private bathroom down the corridor. I was surprised by a potential future guest being shown into my room without any warning and no apology given afterwards.
Great location, public areas of a high standard, excellent breakfasts, friendly staff.
Room advertised as having a private bathroom when it was, in fact, shared with 2 other rooms.
Various types of tea and coffee in the lounge.
The private bathroom wasn't private, no television in the room and to make a hot drink you have to go to the lounge area. All the floorboards creaked loudly so a trip to the "private" bathroom down the end of the passage was heard by all.
Very friendly service.
No TV in room, but available in shared guest area.
1. Jane and Julian were very helpful and very friendly hosts. Yes, we would like to visit there again. 2. Breakfasts, while not gourmet, were certainly quite acceptable and enjoyable. 3. We much enjoyed the library and extensive reading material provided. Also the large gardens and perennial flower beds. An historical property going back to 1770!
1. Directions provided by Booking.com for finding Cuffern Manor are utterly useless. Your map indicated it is close to Roche but try exiting the Haverfordwest -St David's Road at Roche leads one astray. You should be aware that Ciffern Manor is actually sign posted at Simpson Cross on the same highway and is just 1 1/4 miles down that road. Once that is known, Cuffern Manor is easy to find. 2. Plumbing was problematic - difficult to get any hot water in the shower. That said, Julian was most helpful in solving our problem.
Peaceful nice breakfast comfy bed and a lovely shower
No radio or television
Staff Friendly / Accommodating Breakfast Tasty Safe Parking Comfortable Room / Bed Great Shower
Countryside location, not far from the beach. Nice and relaxed environment. Clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and helpfull.
The noise from other the other rooms. The price (in my opinion, slightly overpriced)
Very nice welcome from Julian, and an excellent breakfast from Jane, one of the best I've had! Guests' sitting room & lounge comfortable, with squashy sofas & lots of books around, which I like. Tea & coffee available to make whenever you wanted. The whole place had a pleasant ambience, felt very at home. Lovely position, garden well-kept & the views over the fields nice-I wish I had been there longer.
Only thing was the bed was a bit hard, but that's personal taste.
It's a beautiful place beautifully managed and run; friendly and as comfortable as can be. I had the place to myself so it was a bit like being at home, but in a country mansion! Excellent breakfast too, especially the local (I assume) sausages.
Nothing not to like really although several of the rooms are not en suite, so half a mark off?
Very quiet & comfortable stay in beautiful surroundings.
Rural Location, quiet, good breakfast
Noone around when I arrived the first room i was shown to was very basic with no bathroom and no tv, no evening meals available
friendly, homely feel. Spacious room. Fresh plentiful breakfast. Healthy options. Locally sourced foods including home produced fruit/veg from garden. Excellent info re history of the manor. Friendly (non pushy) info re local events/places to eat and places to walk/visit.
nothing within walking distance e.g could not walk to a local pub/restaurant for evening meal.
Delightful family run quiet country hotel. Great library. Huge variety of tea (we like Rooibos, and it was there). Very helpful and obliging hosts. Would try and book meal in hotel next visit.
Turning out to eat, but we did know in advance we would need to do that.
1. the bed was comfortable 2. a good breakfast 3. a nice shower
1. the duvet was a winter one, and coupled with the lack of heating made it either too hot when fully over one or too cold with some bear flesh 2. the décor owes much to its days as a nursing home 10 years or more ago, and can't have been done since then other than a touch up 3. the family live above and wake early 6.30am (young children) making enough noise to wake one up as they walk and run around over creaky floor boards 4. the windows were covered with cobwebs and just looked uncleaned for ages.
