Cleanliness and parking
Beds Road noise
Location was good and would be ideal for wheelchair use as it has rooms on ground floor. Breakfast was good and wifi in public rooms. Good breakfast and near bus stop. Also free parking
No problems that needs mentioning
Staff nice and polite, breakfast nice, location good for us,
The beds were very uncomfortable, toilet had a strong smell of urine, overflowing ashtray on wall of entrance to hotel, the general first appearance of this hotel mum not great!
Location from main city centre
Not a lot
On checking in we indicated on the sheets the breakfast slot for 9am. On going to breakfast we arrived at 9 am and the staff came over at 9:05 to say the chef would not give us a cooked breakfast as we hadn't ordered by 9:00. Absolutely ridiculous.
Close to the town centre
we had to go up a flight of stairs which were very steep room no.8 we were both o a p my friend who has to walk with a cane had a great bit of trouble getting to the room I could not recommend this hotel
I only stayed for one night but based on that I would definitely book it again if needed.
Clean nice rooms
Cooked Breakfast is made to order a night before
Location - easily accessible from the A8 Free private parking Excellent breakfast
No plug in hand basin
Toilet was bad. not clean with a lot of fungus
Value for money so close to town centre and friendliness of staff.
Facilities a bit worn in places but o k for price.
Large bedroom Good breakfast
Curtains need a little bit tlc. Mattress really soft, OK for one night but not for much longer
Closeness to Edinburgh
Not far from the center of the city, but quiet and comfortable.
Poor quality breakfast
Location and car parking were excellent. Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was good.
Staff seemed to be all foreign and were not overly friendly.
Cumberland hotel was closed and we were put in a city self catering apartment. No parking, no lift. First job was to go food shopping. Woke the first morning no power. Wifi was intermittment. Staff member Ciprian did his best and was most helpful in carrying luggage and sorting apartment out. Feel cheated as we had paid for B&B but didnt get the breakfast. Glad to leave this place and get out of Edinburgh
Location. Very quiet. Nice sized room. Very elegant hotel. Room tidied & fresh towels every day. When restaurant open the food is good. Cooked breakfast was excellent.
Mold on bathroom ceiling. Restaurant closed at the weekend, only snacks available. Single glazed windows so a lot of condensation.
Great value, friendly helpful staff, good sleep and great breakfast
Shower pressure was poor
Car park was tight.
Friendliness. Fine breakfast.
Could be more clean with better breakfast
- proximity to bus stop - friendly staff - we came to Edinburgh in the morning and because there was a room available, we were accommodated already in the morning without waiting to normal check-in time. We appreciated that a lot! - rich breakfast
Clean, cozy rooms. With one exception the staff was very friendly and helpful, and some went out of their way to be of assistance. Breakfast room charming and the food was pretty good.
Shower head wasn't great. Ran out of hot water at one point.
Price. Room size - enormous quad room. Hot water in bath. Bacon and fruit and fibre at breakfast.
Dated decor. Mattress on double bed in quad room not particularly comfortable. Cup in guest sitting room not cleared up from breakfast to afternoon. Absence of staff on door to let you in. 2 bells on door - which one to press?
