Bedrooms were nice and clean. Lounge/bar area was very good. Breakfast was excellent.
Thought price was a little dear. Would have liked breakfast plates etc to be cleared quicker.
We loved the position of the hotel. Staff were very helpful. Very comfy beds good nights sleep. Food was excellent from the generous breakfast to the lovely evening meals.
The staff need more communication with each department to ensure they know whats going on each day.
The bed was the worst ever. You would find better in a hostel and the bedroom furniture was ancient and rickety. Way over rated. Will not stay there again and would definitely not recommend it to anyone. There are much better B&B's close by. Very very disappointed.
Staff were helpful
The food, especially the evening meal. The hotel had a coach party and a wedding party in the same evening - no excuse for the poor quality of food served to other guests!!!
Disappointing breakfast - cooked food had been standing for too long.
Position of hotel Dining room
Size of en suite bathroom
Very well located, an easy walk to the castle.
Not many restaurants close-by.
I though, with the ridiculously plush carpets that this was a fantastic hotel, but when I saw the shower, rubber hose on the taps, I couldn't believe it, decor a bit dated. Apart from the shower it was great.
The room was quiet and situated overlooking the car park and not the busy road. The quality of the breakfast and evening meal was very good and the service was excellent.
The decor was somewhat dated and the room was on the small side
Everything about a hotel
Location Parking on site
the location is ideal, short walk to the center, plenty of local transport to get into the center.
asked for a quiet room, got my request ok, up a load of stairs, right at the back of the hotel, looking onto a roof!!
Can park car easily.
When ask is there any place for food around staff told us only the Indian restaurant over the road and have to book easy for their restaurant so we book a table there. But went we go for a walk there are a lot of food places near by, Then at dinner there the Proud waiter serve us Our order get 2 small thin piece slice of toast came with the liver patty Ask the waiter for some more toast he looked you for a while and the said do you want want bun or whole meal bread sometime like that can't get what he mean. Simple question just to ask more toast. Didn't even give me a bill. My husband think their over charge us for what we had. There are a lot of rules to follow In the room if you get their towels and linen dirty you got to pay.
Conveniently placed Hotel for stop-over when travelling North/South Very friendly staff. Quiet room at the rear of Hotel.
The Stairs. Wi-Fi not available in room - had to use the bar area. The bar area for relaxation was very small for the size of Hotel. Breakfast was only warm - not hot.
We stopped here for one night, travelling south from Scotland. The off-road car park was a generous size and the bar/ restaurant staff for our evening meal were very accommodating (considering we arrived just before the restaurant closed); we had a lovely meal.
The breakfast was not quite as enjoyable as the evening meal. The staff were not as attentive as during our evening meal, some of the food on offer was a bit greasy and shortages were occurring as items were not being topped up very quickly.
Friendly staff. Breakfast provision good. Parking available though with slightly awkward access.
Old fashioned decor. Sheets, duvets and towels of poor standard. No toiletries just soap dispensers. Noisy due to busy road.
The room was excellent and very clean. A good position for the city centre, castle and park.
There was a very rude barman who wasn't impressed when we wanted a drink at 10.55pm as his shift ended at 11pm! He moaned as he had to go to another room for a new bottle. He was more interested in going home as he informed us he was back in work the morning!
Good Food and Service, a pleasant stay.
Nothing to dislike
Very noisy room at front of hotel very little sleep
Staff were very welcoming and friendly..... service with a smile
B'fast not included in cost of £94.00 per night for a 3 star rated hotel... B'fast price £7.50 per person. Room not upto required standard of cleanliness hairs were found in the bed, bath and floor, stained soiled sheets really let this place down.
Reception and Night Porter staff.
Breakfast A total rip off. Wasn't even hot. Staff disinterested.
Food was nice when it finally arrived The girl on reception was lovely when we arrived. The lady when we checked out not so good. Told her our issues and the only thing she could say was oooohh
Hotel dated Bathroom smelled terrible - drains/toilet? Don't know but it was bad Road was noisy so not much sleep Bed creaked every time we turned over Waited a long time for food in restaurant even though it wasn't that busy. There was a Wedding on in the function room and their were children from the wedding running around screaming in the restaurant.
