Warm welcome, excellent evening bar meal, friendly efficient bar staff.

Filthy bedroom - the thick dust on the bed-head was visible from the doorway, and the whole room needed a deep clean. The inside of the breakfast milk jug had a residue of what looked like several days accumulation of dried milk. Huge health and safety issues here. No feedback form available, and although all this was brought to the attention of the reception staff no follow up received from the Hotel.

The room was very clean, free wifi use, staff were very pleasant, free upgrade from a twin to a double room and the breakfast was very good.

Quiet location away from noise of town and the usual weekend problems of hen parties and stag parties. Good food, friendly staff and free WIFI was a great bonus

Nice comfy bed, decent grub, nice bar, best of all are the staff - friendly and helpful.

Some noise from the fans (kitchens presumably) - really should be turned off!

Nice looking hotel from the outside but i'm afraid its like walking back in time when you enter. Its clean but the old carpets and decor give the feeling its dirty which is a shame, the beds are extremely uncomfortable. We had a buffet breakfast which was inparts cold.

the disappearance of all the pictures throughout the hotel looks much cleaner and classier.

Our room was comfortable, clean and kept so by staff. Breakfast was had good selection. We had dinner in the hotel on 3 evenings and it compared to the best that we had eaten in. All staff were very pleasant, helpful and efficient.

It was in the right place and not too expensive

It needs a major rejuvenation. It seems a 19802 throwback. Bedrooms and bathrooms need modernising.

location was easy to reach other places & only 10 mins from town.we also took trip on train from carlisle to settle very nice scenery

our room 204 was small and very hot i thought that the hotel was dark and tired was hoping for a bay frontef type room BUT we had tired small room
