Very friendly and helpful staff at both Reception and in the Breakfast room. Wifi signal very good. Breakfast selection was excellent and cooked to order. Perfect location for the city centre and Theatres. Would stay here again as perfectly comfortable, great location and good value for money.
Intermittent TV signal. Small room but perfectly adequate and comfortable. Lift not working but Recetionist insisted on escorting me to my room and carrying my suitcase up the stairs for me!
The location is perfect and the staff are friendly. The room is clean and well maintained.
Once again the lift was not working for the whole week I was there. Housekeeping did not tidy my room one day. The one continental breakfast I had was unsatisfactory. The evening meal menu is limited. The hair-drier needs to be updated.
Very good customer service. Bed comfy
Rear room poorly soundproofed from early morning bin and delivery drop offs and collection down side service lane. So poor sleep. Poor hot water to bath. TV had a mind of its own
Staff were very helpful, very clean hotel and rooms were comfortable. Firstly the lift was broken - but the staff kindly offered to carry our bags for us; then We had a sewage smell in the room we were due to stay in, due to us being a group of three they then kindly put us in a room each for the inconvenience. Our stay should have been stressful or at least disrupted but We were comfortable and would stay again.
WIFI kept asking for payment when it should have been free. Hotel looked into it butnut still didn't work - small frustrations but would of made the stay that much more easier.
Breakfast staff, location, comfortable beds
Windows are too high and you need staff's help to open/close.
Staff was very helpful and the place was really nice
I didn't like the fact that I understood the parking would be free if I booked online (which I did) but then was told I had to have booked through some other booking system so therefore was not entitled to the parking which annoyed me and I would never stay there again.
One day before I was supposed to check in I was informed by e-mail that the hotel had gone into receivership and few days after this the hotel had been closed on the orders of the fire services!?! Because I could not find alternative and affordable accommodation on such a short notice I ended up completely cancelling my trip to Sheffield. I feel bad for the staff who might lose their jobs after this. But I am very upset about the fact that the hotel insisted on taking out the full payment for my stay at the time of my booking. That money is now gone. I have asked my credit card company and Booking.com to assist me in getting at least (some) of the money back. I hope this will work. I strongly advice everyone who intends to stay in this hotel after it re-opens not to pay anything in advance. I am sorry to say this, but your money is just not safe with them.
Value Staff Vicinity to shops Parking
A bit noisey near alley side of hotel
Staff are really friendly and helpful
Was very disappointed with this hotel. Cancelled on us without 24 hours notice on a Saturday night. There was no other hotels in Sheffield, was very angry.
All Of It!!!!!
didnt get a room manerger was abrupt ended up having to go hom on saterday because could not fined a hotel
Location. Staff were friendly and decent.
The fact that we were all evacuated and put up at the Holiday Inn Express down the road because the fire alarm was condemned by the fire service. Room ventilation was non-existent.
The kindness of the personnel, the localisation, the size of the room and the bed, the quality of the decoration, the cleanliness
Nothing, except that the lift was out of order
I parked at Arundel Gate car park and was expecting help with the cost as advertised on the website. It turned out I was in the wrong Arundel Gate Car Park (Qpark and should have been NCP). This was not made clear on the website so my parking for 17 hours was £15.
The location is good
The room is small; the window can only be opened or closed by the staff; really noisy in the early morning
The view from room Comfy beds How close to the city centre The authentic feel to hotel
The king size, was two singles pushed together Because we were so high up wifi was poor lift controls were loud through the night
The breakfast was fresh and tasty
Stood waiting for 10 minutes for someone to come to the Reception to check us in, the hotel isn't like the other Best Westerns I've stayed in before. It was quite small, most of the paint work was black and grubby. The mattress was awful, I've never had such a bad sleep in my whole life. Spoilt our night away as the next day we had planned to go for a spa day but we were so tired we kept bickering (myself, my mum & sister) and falling asleep rather then having girly chats.
Room was badly laid out. Bed was between 2 walls, so uncomfortably short for anyone (like myself) over 6 ft. hotel backs onto noisy lane. got woken several times by drunks and municipal workers emptying bins. TV on light far too bright - had to switch off at wall.
Location, friendly staff. Asked for room on higher floor on arrival, and receptionist found a room on top floor.
1. TV didn't work properly for three-day stay, in spite of calling engineer and myself telling them the problem was the network cable 2. No bath towel in room on arrival. 3. Parking - advised that NCP car park normal charge £18 but only £6.50 for hotel residents. Told that if only parking for a few hours, just pay normally and it will be cheaper - charged £9.10 for just over 2 hours, whereas whole day would have been £6.50 with hotel discount. Staff do not seem to know rules.
location was great as it was in the centre
Very early sunday morning, the wagons outside made a real noise as they unloaded into the shops right outside the hotel. We were in the first room and the toilet windows were right next to the street. It felt really exposed.
everything except wifi
WiFi does not work
Very convenient to Ponds Forge and centre of Sheffield for shopping
Having to park in NCP car park
you cant sleep night time its too loud
