The Balmoral was very warm & welcoming on our stay. The staff were all polite, friendly & helpful. The room was comfortable and the facilities & service were excellent. This hotel is perfectly situated for walks along the seafront to nearby Southend. |

The single room (with ensuite) I stayed in was much larger than I was expecting and very comfortable. Breakfast choices were varied and plentiful and service very good. |

One of our rooms was upgraded to the honeymoon suite which was excellent in a separate part to the hotel, very clean and comfortable. The conservatory was very nice in the evening with a bar. However the other single room was very small, hot and noisy. And we were disappointed with the breakfast service, our orders were continually gotten wrong. |

I was amazed at the old fashion set-up of room t v ! Only bbc1 &2 ,itv & Chanel 4 no accsess to 'text' to get weather, or details of tv programmes. Info in that there is no access from the a13, and ther bridge near the Westcliff station makes access difficult.. |

The staff were helpful, good off road parking behind hotel, good breakfast, handy location for walking to the hospital for my business appointment. Wireless internet inoperable. This was a factor in my choice of hotel, so disapointed.Kitchen ventilator outside room noisy until about 9.00 pm. |

The main hotel was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was reasobly good although small portion. The hotel was nicely decorated and clean. However, we srtayed in the annex at the side of the hotel and the room was "tired", the bathroom was tiny and the shower was mouldy. |

Closeness to seaside and shops Family room too small, beds provided for children were not comfortable My kids ended up spending more time in my bed. Walls too thin, so you could hear every sound of people next door. I think that if they are going to put families in room with young children they need to be aware of whose room is next to these. We were woken up nightly with men coming in very loud, swearing, etc. Menus not appropriate for young children, service quite slow. When we arived our rooms were not ready, we had to wait for about 45 mins before we were shown to our rooms. Price too high even with discount so not good value for money. |

Central to where we needed to be. The size of the rooms, size of bathroom. Rejected first room as too small, moved to another that was a bit bigger . However this was over the kitchen and next to the extractor, and staff chatted and smoked outside the back door from 7/00am. |
