Kilkhampton is not really exciting.
Kilkhampton is not really exciting. But there is a small and a larger supermarket. You are quickly in the neighboring village Bude. In Bude there are large shopping malls and a gas station. From Kilkhampton you can reach attractive places and sights, such as Tintagel or Padstow, relatively quickly.
And if you don't want to cook like me, you go to the London Inn in the evening. Good food at pleasant prices and very nice people.
My little dog Lotte was welcomed everywhere.

There isn't much to see OR do in Kilkhampton.
There isn't much to see OR do in Kilkhampton. A few convenience stores and a couple of takeaways. You would need a car and travel some distance to see a range of interesting things and before you leave for your holiday, check websites to see if the venue is open. We picked up a leaflet for Bodmin Jail....travelled a couple of hours to get there, only to find out that the place is shut for renovation work and to make the place a hotel! other places weren't open either because of the virus.

The village is nice. It has a range of amenities. There are 2 pubs with dining. There's a fish and chip shop, a pizza takeaway and Chinese too. Plus a Co-op supermarket and other shops. It is surrounded by lovely countryside. It is close to Bude and its great beaches. Lots to see and lots of places in easy reach to visit.

Interesting history of kilkhampton on notice board.
Interesting history of kilkhampton on notice board. Enjoyed a lovely meal in one of two pubs on our last night. This was the New Inn. Liked local shops and discovered walks thanks to two locals I spoke to. A walk through cemetery and onto public foot path. Though we did not get to ruins of Kilkhampton Castle this time, the children enjoyed it
The chalet site was very nice, well maintained and easy walking of 10 mins into kilkhampton
Took 10 mins to drive to Bude though I would have also got the bus at other times. A good base to explore North Cornwall.

Such a beautiful area, perfect for walks and we took our bikes (although it is rather hilly). Locals were so friendly. Lots of places near to it to travel to, Bude was especially beautiful, Duckpool and Sandymouth beach. Kilkhampton Common was a lovely walk.
