Fabulous location, in an old house and the room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with great bacon and sausages and the gentleman that brought it was very attentive and pleasant.
Restaurant and bar closed and we had to go out which was the last thing we wanted to have to do. Waitress at breakfast was rude and ignored us and continued her conversation about the x factor, then made us sit at the back of the breakfast room, when we wanted to have a nice view of the lake, which we would have had at a different table which was not used. I think it was set for dinner and she was just too lazy to change it to accommodate her guests.
Beautiful peaceful grounds and garden

Clean room lovely location quite & peaceful
No phone signal poor wi-fi No food option available only breakfast as web site suggested food was available No bar facility Had to use local pub for evening meal which is only a short distance walkable in daylight but would need torch to walk back up lane to get to hall
Location, generally very clean, quirky and interesting interior, furniture and decor, nice breakfast and the pub across the road for a one course evening meal. The hotel appeared short staffed and therefore rather rushed but the guy who was on duty was helpful.
Despite immaculate table linen at breakfast the three dead flies on the window were not appealing - attention to detail please! The only option for food in the evening was a four course meal. It wasn't the cost that put us off (£40 pp) we just weren't that hungry - surely they could offer a 2 or 3 course menu. Probably overpriced at £140 for a double room.
The location and view of the lake was lovely. Very peaceful enjoyed watching the rabbits playing out the front on the grass.
We stayed in room 4 which was quite a let down as the size of it was very small with a very old small TV that only had limited channels, for the price we paid we expected better. Didn't seem more than 2 staff and were not made aware of any food available at night which website said there was a restaurant??
We were so impressed by Dale Head Hall. The owners were very nice welcoming people, the room was faultless and the view of the Lake from the room was of outstanding beauty. We would not hesitate to stay there again, hopefully, sooner rather than later.
Wonderful views from room
The peace and beauty of the whole place
Dale Head was a fantastic hotel with great facilities and an amazing view. The staff were really warm and helpful. Thank you!
Peace and quiet - off the beacon track
Room 3 very clean and comfortable. Quiet and tranquil place.Good breakfast.
The entrance and hallway was a bit run down and need refurbishment. The path to the lake was overgrown with tall grass.
The location was superb, food was out of this world and the accommodation was genuinely first class. Not cheap, but quality costs.
The only single fault I could mention was the midges on the lake shore, hardly a fault of the hotel.
Quiet tranquil location Food Hotel setting, view
The hotel was located in a wonderful location and represented the very best in terms of hotel accommodation. I have absolutely no detrimental comments to make at all. We spent a wonderful night in a superb location & will undoubtedly book again.
Fantastic property with stunning lake view, ideally situated.
Location was good (don't trust your GPS) Breakfast too, good and tasty, and freshly cooked. Staff were polite. Views from room 4 are impressive.
Room 8 was smelly, like puke. It seems something was wrong with the carpet, and it was a really bad experience to sleep in there. Management didn't provide with a real solution, as per the freshener (spry) wasn't enough. The shower in room 4 is old and not useful, and the water went in all directions but to your body. WIFI was failing, not a big deal for relaxing holidays, but everything together make of this hotel not price balanced.
Beautiful tranquil location which takes your breath away.Lack of mobile phone contact from 20yds up the entrance drive was a bonus. Standard Room 15 had an excellent view, was large and spacious with a comfortable bed. The breakfast room was bright and airy and the breakfast choice was very good and well prepared. The staff especially Phillip were helpful ,courteous and made us feel very welcome.
Leaving! ....A single nights stay was not enough
Loved the location, hosts and the breakfast.
No one's fault, but as we were the only guests, it lacked atmosphere. The bed was a bit too soft for my husband. It won't stop us coming back though.
This is a genuine olde-worlde charming property, but with all the mod-cons for a truly comfortable stay. Large grounds for a relaxing walk, with Lake Thirlmere below. Excellent breakfast cooked to order, with a view to the Lake from the window. Very helpful owner. Did not see the red squirrels this time, but we have seen them in this area in the past. Highly recommend.
Beautiful Location. Phillip terrific host - always on hand to help or make our stay very comfortable.
Well maybe the weather but nobody can do much about that!!!
Peace and quiet. Stunning views. Breakfast. Genial host.
