The room, the dinner, the location
We stayed overnight and will be back! Enjoyed every moment. So clean, staff so friendly and helpful, amazing golf course
everything one of the best hotels I have stayed at
The room was clean and comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast, as always, was really good.
Been to this hotel 10 or more times over the past 6 years. During this time certain standards have declined. The bar meals have decreased, there used to be a daily specials board as well as a menu. Maybe there is no call for it now as the drinks are so expensive that the bar area is generally deserted. Although the room was comfortable and exceptionally clean the pillows could do with updating, no life in them at all.
All very functional and correct!
The reception staff were apparently 'not allowed' to book me a taxi, instead, provided me a list of numbers, which I had to laboriously dial in order to located and book a car. Seems rather low-rent to me (have never experienced this response anywhere else, ever)!
Helpful staff. Nice golf course. Good breakfast and bar food.
Small bathroom. Just a shower really, no bath. The hotel would benefit from more bar staff at busy times.
Great food, very friendly and accommodating staff
Lovely place on the golf course with beautiful views
The bed was very uncomfortable found it very hard to sleep. Had to wait a long time for some toast at breakfast. Even after asking where it had got to, we still didn't get it.
Area, room, facilities, staff
Help yourself breakfast, for the price of the room would of been nice to have breakfast served to us
Views. Pool and Sauna, Reception Staff.Breakfast.Nice and peaceful surroundings.
Bed mattress old and hard. No loo roll 2nd day. Waitress 1st day forgot our order despite being asked 3 times. Sauna is a little dated.
The large room.
Everything, the ambiance, food, staff and rooms are all very good quality and value. The breakfast is done with a small but very good buffet for the fruit, cereal and hot food, and the coffee/tea and toast are all done to order, which is very nice to have and a change from most other hotels. I particularly like the fact that as it is a working Golf Club it is very quiet at night apart from the occasional neanderthal who doesn't know how to close a door quietly, but that isn't the hotel's fault.
It was very hot when I stayed there and there is no air conditioning, but a lovely young lady called Lilly found me an industrial size fan and that was absolutely perfect. The problem is there is no through draft in any of the rooms and I would not have been able to stay there and sleep without the fan. However as they solved that then everything was very good and I slept well.
we were only there for 1 night (local wedding) and the facilities seemed good. The room was very spacious and a fan was included. The twin beds were easy to push together as a double.
it is nearly impossible to get a taxi! There are no local taxi firms, just individual drivers. We actually couldn't book a taxi back to the venue (about 10 mins away) the next morning to collect our car, despite trying 6 numbers. In the end friends came to collect us instead.
Stayed after my sisters wedding at nearby swallows oast, was a lovely room and hotel - just a shame it was a flying visit and didn't have more time to enjoy it!
Breakfast was poor No spa
Location ok Food ok.
Four star....sorry never! Down for two nights for my sons Wedding, i had booked 6 months ahead and asked for a nice room with balcony. * Their brochure is so misrepresentative and deceiving there is no massage parlour as your led believe. * The pool looks so luxurious but...its smaller and pokier than the picture, no sumptious plants as in brochure. * Our Pokey twin -bedded room * No air conditioning, we asked for a fan and were told sorry they are all out! we then insisted as it was really hot my friend was practically fainting, miraculously one appeared. * Patio doors opened onto the golf course but..... at night we couldnt open them for fear of foxes or strangers straying in! there were no windows at all! we would have left if they had not produced a fan. * One tiny bar of soap and....only one face flannel, when we asked for two soaps were told that one only is standard for the room! excuse me? * Now for the worst bit, blood stain on the old 1970s carpet and also on the dirty old nets above it on the patio doors! we have pictures to support this. * Tere were cig buts on the patio and strewn across the lawn in front of us. * The inside bars were either too hot ( no air con) or too cold (air con) * The outside balcony was filthy with used serviettes rammed down one side of the building wall, we have pix. *Sun Canopy we raised on our table broken when waiter fetched another that was also unusable. * Lampshade by bed did not work! * No proper Wifi or phone calls as intermittant signal. ; Summery: We did make a complaint but never really got an adequate answer hardly an apology, and asked if we were allocated this dreadful room as we were not members and was told this was not the case, but what excuse is there as we noticed in three or four rooms on our floor being cleaned were enormous with lounge area and sofas! I would not recommend this shambolic golf hotel to anyone except golfers for the day only as the course looked fine.
Size of room
Size of bathroom and distance to centre of Ticehurst!
Location, facilities and staff
Little more attention to detail like our toilet seat looked bit old and manky, no real character, little bland
Very clean, staff were friendly, breakfast was excellent and the environment was lovely.
Noisy young guests first night, on a firm's junket, all expenses paid!
Couldnt complain, had everything we needed. Lovely spacious rooms with great facilities in beautiful surroundings.
Good size bedrooms. Staff ready to help and very pleasant.
Ensuite miniscule. Breakfast a bit chaotic.
The beautiful views and stunning location, the roomy, comfortable and high-quality accommodation, the wide choice of menu, plus the friendly and helpful staff.
Guests do get a lot for their money, making it a good price, overall. However, charges per guest, rather than per room might allow lone travellers to benefit from cheaper accommodation but this is a common problem, not just specific to Dale View.
Although a golfing hotel that did not affect our stay in any way (we weren't golfers) Excellent restaurant food and service for dinner. Breakfast, which was hot buffet, was good although seemed to struggle to keep up hot supplies a bit. Didn't use pool etc so cant comment on them
Comfortable accommodation all through the hotel, bedroom, restaurant, washroom, bar, lounge,
