When I stayed at this hotel it was very quiet. The hotel was like an oasis; very calm, peaceful and very helpful staff. The room was very clean. I stay in many hotels which over-promise and under-deliver but this hotel was a the opposite. The breakfast service was a little slow, but, as mentioned, it was a very quiet time, so not surprising that the waitress had poppe doff to attend to something else.

I had a meeting in Ticehurst and the hotel was well located to the village. It was quiet, the room was large and well furnished. The breakfast was excellent. The whole stay was very good value for money.

It was very well located to visit the coast & also many of the National Trust properties in the area. The price we paid from yourselves was excellent considering its facilities & 4 star rating. Whilst most staff were excellent, the bar staff were were not u[ to the same standard.

Never again . The cook is not a cook... it's a crook !

Super room, very clean and comfortable, and huge. Arrived late and wanted to eat light. Only two or three people dining but kitchen still couldn't manage an omelette and salad... it wasn't on the menu.

Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Room very clean and spacious with up to date decor and luxurious bathroom. Swimming pool looked clean and well maintained although we didn't have time to use it. Plenty of free parking. Location was near to lots of villages as well as being close enough to the main a21. Accomodation was value for money but the breakfast wasn't as good as we have found in other cheaper hotels. We dined elsewhere in the evening as the bar's menu was quite limited for our personal choice but others may disagree.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. We had a suite on the ground floor overlooking the golf course. The peace and quiet and beauty of this area is staggering and really made the break for us. The Eighteenth Bar on the first floor has a terrace with (surprisingly given its name!) a view of the eighteenth hole, and we enjoyed a pre-dinner drink watching the golfers come in (neither of us are golfers by the way). The breakfast was of fantastic quality. Plenty of fresh fruit rather than the tinned stuff you get in some hotels: strawberries, pineapple, melon, apricots, nectarines, all fresh. The cooked breakfast was great too, proper fresh plum tomatoes and proper sausages. Really good service at breakfast too, although we were there quite early and it looked rushed later. We didn't have dinner at the hotel as it looked expensive, but ate at the nearby Cherry Tree pub, which we can whole-heartedly recommend. We chose this hotel partly because it had a gym, but the gym and swimming pool area need a spruce up. There aren't many lockers in the fitness suite, and some were being used for storing cleaning equipment. The showers in the gym are very small and pokey. The extractor fan in the shower was inadequate for the steam produced, and this does nothing for the paintwork! In our room there were 5 lightbulbs not working - we were surprised this had not been checked by the housekeeper. The bathroom was poorly laid out and not up to scratch for a hotel of this quality - the towel rail should have been on the other side of the shower door, and the bath was very narrow. The toiletries were not as nice as in other hotels of this class. The bed in our room was not in fact a double but 2 singles pushed together with a huge gap in the middle - not what we were really expecting in a suite with a price to match. Having said all this, we wanted a quiet peaceful hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary away from our children, and we did really enjoy our stay. The staff at this hotel are really attentive and friendly, particularly on reception. If some attention was paid to these tiny details this would really be a fabulous hotel.

The quality and style of the accommodation were that of a five star hotel. Immaculate in every way. I had supper in the bar area and can only assume that it was the Chef's night off. (Over cooked chicken in a sauce of tinned tomatoes with a teaspoon of indian spices does not a chicken masala make!) Breakfast the following morning was very good.
