Once an ancient monastery, The Star and Eagle Hotel dates back to the 14th Century. It offers charming accommodations in the Kent countryside, a 20-minute drive from Royal Tunbridge Wells.

The room and its contents. The bar area and lounge bar. The bar meals. The breakfast and restaurant. The surroundings
The kettle lead was far too short making it dangerous. The kettle was in danger of falling off the desk. The bathroom was rather small and cramped. I burnt myself on the very hot radiator when getting out of the shower.
Plenty of rooms for guests from nearby wedding venue. Bar still open upon our return so plenty of time to catch up with guests.
The overall package
We were a large party as it was my son's wedding that weekend. Everybody enjoyed the hotel facilities & food . The whole stay (2 nights) was thoroughly enjoyable!
The staff in the restaurant were extremely pleasant and the food was excellent. A very nice dining experience. The general ambience of the hotel was superb.
Stayed on a half-board basis. When we checked in for dinner it was obvious that this was not recorded as the restaurant staff had to check this with the receptionist. An apology was given but when we checked out the dinner bill had been added to our bill and WE had to ask for it to be removed!! Nice try.
another very pleasant stay at Dale Hill would highly recommend
fridge in room would be useful
Everything . The friendly staff , the room , the option of bath or shower and the breakfast .
Maybe the omission of sky on the TV
Staff and the food and facilities were great.
Size of room and bed
Good sized suite, albeit a little tired. Good breakfast in a nice restaurant.
Ground floor suite was very warm even in the Autumn - would benefit from air conditioning (although there was a fan).
It was very good location and quiet area .It nice to be the countryside. The breakfast are very good choices. Love to come again one day.
I can't think of any fault.
The food and the restaurant staff were very good. It came across that they enjoyed their work and were very attentive.
The attitude of the receptionist when I complained about our room that was small and poky no bath and stains and rips on the nets of the patio doors. I paid £135 which I felt was not worth the value of the room. Lucky I complained again and a manager heard and dealt with it just as I thought she should. She restored my faith and then the staff in the restaurant were amazing.
Staff were polite and helpful food was excellent. Our room was extremely spacious clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.
There wasn't anything to dislike. Only suggestion there should be more enhancement of the leisure facilities. Robes would be nice for walking back to your room or relaxing by the pool.
breakfast was excellent.
Location Reception Staff Bar staff
Old rusty loo seat and grubby around shower door although generally clean. Breakfast, ran out of several items early in service and long wait for trays to be replenished and for toast to be made. Abrupt staff at breakfast service. Recently had to stay an IBIS hotel and breakfast service, breakfast selection and staff better. Not really good enough for a 4* hotel charging 4* room rate
Very comfortable hotel with every convenience. The staff all very helpful and friendly
Time limit of free Wi-Fi
The room, the dinner, the location
We stayed overnight and will be back! Enjoyed every moment. So clean, staff so friendly and helpful, amazing golf course
everything one of the best hotels I have stayed at
The room was clean and comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast, as always, was really good.
Been to this hotel 10 or more times over the past 6 years. During this time certain standards have declined. The bar meals have decreased, there used to be a daily specials board as well as a menu. Maybe there is no call for it now as the drinks are so expensive that the bar area is generally deserted. Although the room was comfortable and exceptionally clean the pillows could do with updating, no life in them at all.
All very functional and correct!
The reception staff were apparently 'not allowed' to book me a taxi, instead, provided me a list of numbers, which I had to laboriously dial in order to located and book a car. Seems rather low-rent to me (have never experienced this response anywhere else, ever)!
Helpful staff. Nice golf course. Good breakfast and bar food.
Small bathroom. Just a shower really, no bath. The hotel would benefit from more bar staff at busy times.
Great food, very friendly and accommodating staff
Lovely place on the golf course with beautiful views
The bed was very uncomfortable found it very hard to sleep. Had to wait a long time for some toast at breakfast. Even after asking where it had got to, we still didn't get it.
