My girlfriend and I recently stayed at Dalescroft and would have no hesitation in staying there again or recommending to friends. Large clean rooms with a huge bed and a friendly atmosphere. The breakfast was very good with decent size portions that set you up for the day. The location is good as a 10 minute walk will have you within the castle walls, leave the car at Dalescroft (free onstreet parking). Nothing to moan about. |

A lovely little B&B, 10 minutes walk from York city centre and the train station. A bargain considering the ensuite facilities and included breakfast. The hotel is on a quite road and there are no disturbances from traffic noise, etc. A couple of the other reviews have complained about the size and decor of the rooms - this B&B isn't the Ritz, but nor do you pay anything like Ritz prices. If you're intending to spend a substantial amount of time in the hotel room, you might be better off spending more money somewhere else, but if you're just looking for somewhere to spend your nights while you explore York then this is perfect. |

The hotel was very convenient to the centre of York (15 min walk). The area it was in very quiet and there was a bus into York nearby if you did not want to walk. The triple room was large, clean and comfortable. The welcome we were given was very freindly. It was lovely that the night before the stay the hotel rang me to confirm what time I wished to arrive at so my room could be ready. In the room there was a variety of refreshments, tea, coffee, chocolate, horlicks, etc. There was a pack with local information in. The beds were very comfortable and clean. the shower was powerful and retained a constant heat. The full english breakfast was huge and the food was very well cooked and presented. |

Pleasant and charming proprietors who made you feel welcome. Good breakfast. Good to be so close to York city centre that you could walk there and leave the car parked at Dalescroft. The washhand basin was outwith the bathroom. |

The landlady was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent and the city centre is 10/15 minutes walk from it. We were very impressed with her attention to small details to make the guests feel confortable and at home. The bathroom even had moisturiser cream and cotton buds! She also provided maps and a folder with all the main attractions in the city. A very pleasant stay! |
