The room was of poor decor. It was obvious that under the bed hadn't been cleaned. The bathroom was dark the toilet cistern top was stained with old dirt. The curtain was hanging down in the corner - the hooks had broke off and needed replacing.
This bnb does exactly what you ask. Its a warm welcome a good family atmosphere. My daughter loved the dog alfie and the owners and staff made us feel very happy for us to bring our 2 year old with us. I did read other comments about it been noisy as soon as we walked in they gave us the option of the room that was ready made for us directly above the bar or wait a hour to check into a top floor one where there is less noise. So we waited and went on a lovely walk down the river wharfe and had a play at the playground located 100 yards behind the accommodation. That night we didn't here a bit of noise apart from at kick out time. Which I expected as I run a bar/pub and I know what its like when everyone is leaving at once. So no problem from me I recommend booking bed and breakfast as the breakfast was very good. Defiantly stay here again Sean Kate and Evie
The WiFi wasn't that strongest which didn't bother me as I had mobile signal but my partner didn't.
The size of the room was great. Even had a settee in there. Clean bathroom.
Although being told at check-in (after booking on-line) that the bar was open until 2am, we didn't realize how loud the music would actually be. Our room was directly above the bar area and the speakers were right under our bed. It was banging music until 2.04am. There was no sleep whatsoever until then. The slats on the bed came away a couple of times, when lifting mattress up to rectify, saw that it hadn't been vacuumed under the bed for a while.
Good breakfast and location, comfortable
Noisy smokers outside till closing time under the bedroom window till 2am!
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Went out of their way to keep us happy and even gave us a free upgrade. Excellent food and great valur for money.
The room was excellent accommodation. Everything worked and the décor was fine
If we were very picky, the meals were average
The Dalesway is right in the heart of Ilkley with great access to the town, the Moor and the riverside. The rooms are above a pub and have their own showers and free-wifi. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
The bed is small and not spectacularly comfortable. The bathroom was also very small. Both things you might expect from staying in a pub room!
Hotel was central, with free car parking. Breakfast was included in the price and it was delicious
A shelf and hooks to hang towels and place toiletries would be a vast improvement.
it was the right place to explore ilkley town and a great base to start your walks
• cold bedrooms • company at breakfast (owners dog!) we're not dog lovers! • ' greasy spoon cafe' style where breakfast is eaten! This is a B&B above a pub NOT a hotel!!
Very friendly staff. Excellent cooked breakfast. Would use this hotel again as a base for staying in this area.
No parking (but was told the church car park across the road was available - which it was!)
Breakfast lovely choice served hot Very good Evening Meal and Sunday Lunch very good. Can recommend the food.
I was on second floor and still heard noise from the bar area. Saturday night noise did not stop until approx. 2.15am. Sunday still heard crowd in bar but it did finish approx. 12.15am. Slightly quieter Sunday night.
Friendly staff, great breakfast, well kept beer in pub
Heating is on a timer and the room was rather cold late evening and early morning. It's an old building, and while my room was comfortable with a very decent bathroom, slightly musty smell to the place.
Very quiet room. Great central location next to a large car park which is free between 6pm and 8am.
Default breakfast serving time starts at 8:30am which is a bit late for many travellers. However, the staff are more than happy to serve a little earlier if you ask.
Myself and my partner stayed here for our Anniversary. The location was brilliant, right in the centre of Ilkley so no need for taxis. The bed was comfy and the views across Ilkley were lovely.
The room wasn't as clean as we expected it to be. The carpet hadn't been hoovered and the surfaces were dirty. A couple of the staff members were rude and would serve the locals before the guests. Slightly over priced for the service that we received.
Good size rooms Clean Comfortable bed Friendly staff
Lack of parking
From the moment we checked in to the point when we left the staff were really friendly and helpful. The bar area was pleasant and we had a very lively stay. Ginger Bob, what a legend!
Unfortunately the room was not very clean and the bathroom was even worse. I don't really want to go into detail as we did actually enjoy ourselves but the room was very expensive for what it was and breakfast was not included. I'm so sad to say we won't be staying again as the people were lovely, it's a real pity.
Good greeting The room was ready early so we could drop off our overnight things, quick change and have a cup of tea before setting off for the wedding. All the facilities we required for the overnight stay. Friendly staff in the morning to take our breakfast order.
Nothing to complain about.
The friendly staff who were very helpful and made every effort to make me feel at ease.
Friendly staff especially at breakfast. Good breakfast.Decent pint! nice pub dog.
Parking arrangements and road noise. Hotel needs modernising as it is a bit tired Area around the back door needs cleaning.
Excellent location in centre of Ilkley - comfortable (apart from temperature issues) and clean, etc.
Rooms very cold when we checked in (cold December day) - my elderly mother was frozen, even with her coat on and even when heating first came on about 3.00 pm - a fan heater was supplied when we asked for it, after which the room did heat up ok. The manager (I think) seemed to think we had checked in early, before the heating was timed to come on, but we checked in after the time specified when we made the booking, which was 2.00 pm.
Beds were comfy. Staff were friendly and breakfast served a little later which suited us fine. Staff were very accommodating regarding checking out time. Very friendly.
The room was very hot and the radiators couldn't be turned off/down. It was also a bit noisy in the early hours of the morning - though I was expecting this due to previous reviews. .
Helpfulness as one or party's dogs had gone missing that day. The landlord was a great help in informing the local community, which eventually led to its safe return.
Paying for breakfast.
Staff were helpful & friendly. Food was gorgeous. Atmosphere was welcoming & clean.
Our stay was too short.
Everything was just perfect
