Welcoming Staff eager to help, rooms are "Dated" but adequate and offer excellant value for money. Location is ideal for local shopsetc and sightseeing. Would use again. Located over an Indian restuarant and hotel bar so occassional smell of cooking and noise up to midnight closing.

Convenient location and low cost Eccentricity of hot water supply appeared to result in frequent changes in temperature of water during shower. My room seemed to be located directly above where the Saturday night karaoke took place, until well after midnight. While breakfast was adequate it seemed odd to be served coffee in a teapot . . .

The price was good. The location suited me as I needed to be close to clients at Kippen. The staff were cheerful and friendly. There was a Karaoke night in progress right beneath my room. (It was a Sat night). It was so loud I couldn't hear my tv even though it was at full volume. The Karaoke event did not end until 1am, and the bar remained very noisy (too noisy to sleep) until 1.50am. I didn't complain at the time, and this is not a complaint now. I just submit it as information that potential customers might find useful.

Very friendly staff, nothing was too much The staff are very friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was more than enough, had a problem eating all of it! That said, it was fresh, hot, well cooked and delicious. We all enjoyed our stay very much and the regulars in the bar made us more than welcome. We arrived as guests and left as friends. Will definately return here.

Friendly, comfortable, good value accommodation. Not swanky but then this hotel doesn't charge swanky prices. Good location in the centre of the village.

The bedrooms were fine, a good size and very clean. Same with the ensuite it was clean and had all the usual free toiletries, soap shower gel etc. Downstairs however is in serious need of updating/decorating especially as this is where you will be eating your breakfast in the morning. Breakfast was good and well cooked. We did however have to ask for our toast as we were nearly finished our breakfast and it still hadnt arrived, when it eventually did arrive the girl brought 4 slices (2 of which were outsiders) and a few minutes later another 4 slices which we didnt want it was far too much. We said we didnt want the last 4 slices and the girl seemed a bit put out by this, she was maybe stressed as she seemed to be the only one serving. Hotel is at a good location and we would have no problems going back there. The pub downstairs seriously needs decorating, it is tired, worn and very dated. It can get very rowdy so if you looking for a quiet drink then this isnt the place to go. There was a crowd of 4 in one night who were extremely drunk, knocking things over, screaming, they could barely stand and were making a complete nuisance of themselves. It took numerous complaints before they were eventualy asked to leave. That took the shine off the night for us and by the look of other peoples faces them to.

Hotel has no reception area as such and all arrivals have to enter the public bar to be checked in. The rooms were adequate but due to the location of an indian restaurant at the front of the hotel opening the window resulted in the room quickly smelling of cooking food. The breakfast was very nice but again served in the public bar with only one waitress on duty who was rushed off her feet. Due to everything being centred around the public bar I feel it is more suited for backpackers and the like as opposed to families.

Staff were welcoming & friendly. Good location on main street. Great atmosphere in hotel bar at night. Excellent breakfast. Rooms could do with being refurbished (carpets a bit threadbare) but clean enough. Worst has to be carpet in the bathroom....yuck!
