The rooms were all individually themed and decorated tastefully; the staff members were friendly and helpful and we were sorry we could not take Angus up on his kind offer to give us a guided tour of the castle's secrets but we were in the midst of a most delicious dinner in the dungeon. The grounds were beautiful and it was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It was a bit difficult for some members of our group to get up the stairs to their room but it was their choice to stay in a particular themed room and I suppose it would be difficult to put a lift in a castle. |

lovely outside of building. lovely grounds to walk in and nearby coal mining museum. also dungeon dinning room and old library and afternoon tea very shabby inside, appart from dungeon and library. totally outrageous price for room quality and hotel overall interior look |

The welcome, especially from Angus was warm and heartfelt. He is a credit to your company, as are all of the staff, without exception. It was an utter delight to spend time at the Castle, and it was over all too quickly. I will however return as soon as possible, and recommend it to others. |

The tranquility, relaxation, food, attention to detail...the beautiful countryside and the spa..we got married there 4 years ago and it is every bit as perfect as it was back then.. |

Fantastic and authentic atmosphere. Fairy tale surroundings and all so conveniently located. The food was delightful and I would not hesitate to stay there again. Leaving. |

The location of the castle, the maintenance of the property, friendliness of the staff. Novel themes rooms and atmosphere. Lack of choice on the restaurant food menu, price of the fixed menu. Lack of gym and guest spa facility. High prices for treatments. |

Staff was exceptionally helpful and went above and beyond in the service they offered. Price too high for the lodge experience, perhaps the castle rooms are better? |

Fantastic, enter the world of the 17th Century. Superb dinner, 7 course in Dungeon which started off in Library. Halls and steps are a touch run down but its a Castle! Angus was extremely pleasant and spa treatments very good. If I have to be picky, I did not like parking right outside entry way and gravel lot. |

Erst nach Intervention an der Rezeption das gebuchte und teure Zimmer erhalten, ansonsten aber als Castle Hotel zu empfehlen. |

Wir waren schon einmal vor fünf Jahren dort und haben zu unserer Freude alles wie damals vorgefunden. Besonders das Essen im Restaurant "Dungeon" war erstklassig; auch das Ambiente. Wir haben sehr schlecht geschlafen,da wir nur ein französisches Bett hatten; damals hatten wir twin beds, was uns wesentlich mehr entgegen kam. |

weinig positiefs: kasteel is vergane glorie en spa stelt nauwelijks iets voor! personeel was wel vriendelijk. Onze kamer bleek een kelderkamer met een samenraapsel van meubelen en stijlen. Het raam had nauwelijks uitzicht. Dit was niet wat wij hadden verwacht van een nachtje logeren in een kasteel!!! Tenslotte was de "standard castle room' toch £100. We hebben dit bij receptie aangekaart en hebben uiteindelijk een upgrade gekregen naar mooi ingerichte kamer met mooi uitzicht op rivier. |

とても素敵なお城で、部屋もゴージャスで、アンティークの家具に豪華な内装、お庭も素晴らしかったです。 日本語を話せるスタッフはいませんが、とても親切なスタッフばかりで日本人でも安心して泊まれます。 レンタカーさえあれば、市内に宿泊するよりはるかにｴｼﾞﾝﾊﾞﾗを満喫できるはずです！ |
