The toast was over done twice!
The location is excellent for our purpose. The hotel is always nice and warm. The staff throughout the hotel are very pleasant and helpful.
The waitress staff at breakfast would benefit from further training. During our visit there were no tables set for 3 and no effort was made to alter this. We had to collect various items required for our table i.e. salt, pepper, milk jug, sugar bowl, condiments etc and lay our own table. The food is usually very good although during this visit we found the breakfast to be poor. The mushrooms were cold and had to be returned. The scrambled eggs were very dry with little taste. A dirty cup had to be returned. The sugar bowl had obvious signs of recent use - dirty/wet sugar. Housekeeping staff could do more. Bins were not emptied, dirty towels were not collected from bath (although new ones were left on bed), dirty glasses were not removed/replaced.
Excellent food again, great wifi, plenty of parking.
Nice room, large bathroom with Jacuzzi bath, plate of mints and bowl of fruit, nice and cosy
Lack of natural light in room as the blind only went partially up, also lack of lights so difficult to dry hair and making sure we had left nothing behind.
No issues in changing rooms. Excellent food. Plenty of parking. Fast & free wifi.
First room; window falling apart, no soap/shower gel, etc. Second room; although window fine & soap/shower gel present it obviously hadn't been cleaned properly after previous residents (biscuit crumbs across floor, hair bobble & clips on floor, dirty towels still in shower.) Electric room heater plugged into mains socket making table light dim when heating clicks on - annoying when you're on a business trip.
Beautifully located in a magnificent garden, quiet neighbourhood, not to far to Gleniffer Braes countrypark and golf course. Helpful staff, nice photos from Scottish weddings hanging on the walls, nice tartan-like carpets - it all adds up to the great atmosphere of the place. Finally, not so far from Glasgow Int Airport - the taxi around midnight was about 16 pounds. I would definitely recommend it to all, who want a country park atmosphere and feel they are in Scotland just after landing in the UK!
I don't mind so much, however in a window there was a hole and cold air was getting in - although the room was very warm and had a heater, I noticed it only just before departure. The breakfast was good, however it was a hearty Scottish breakfast preparred on lots of fat & oils - not something that a weight-conscious person would crave a lot - but then you can still choose some cereal instead as within the cold options.
The staff were helpful and always on hand The front desk staff bent over backwards to ensure our needs were met to the fullest
The jacuzzi was broken
Professional and trained staff. Very keen to help and assist.
Even though the hotel was almost empty, they decided to put us on a far room from the reception and stairs, showers are poor quality, carpet are teared.
Large car park, good quality food, comfortable room.
The bathroom was a little cramped, and I didn't like having to eat in the bar in the evening, I would have preferred to have eaten in the restaurant.
The staff are professional, helpful and went out of there way to assist. The jacuzzi in my suite and the four poster bed was so comfortable. The gardens are very pretty even though a hurricane was passing through the 2 nights i stayed. Bar staff were accommodating and the food is great.. I cannot recommend this establishment enough. Thank you, i will be back.
I enjoyed it all..Fantastic!
The house and gardens were attractive.
Breakfast was very poor- ran out of porridge! Black pudding salty and dry. Room was small, dark and cramped- bathroom pokey. Room was very far from reception in spite of hotel being almost empty.
The look of the hotel...the old world charm The quirky fittings and fixtures The staff we're totally lovely
The food was nice but not out of this world - very tasty but I guess I expected a wow factor That I couldn't have stayed longer
Night porter was extremely helpful. The rooms were comfortable and not overheated. We could open windows. Decor was well-maintained. Full breakfast was non-greasy, very good. Grounds were attractive. Wifi password was in the room. No hassle getting on.
Bar a little expensive, but it is a country house hotel.
Room and breakfast
Location is too far from main city
The 4-poster bed was a surprise, the room and bathroom were lovely and clean. The fruit, water and chocs were a nice touch! We had dinner in the hotel and this was very enjoyable and reasonably priced. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I think I have ever had! Many thanks for a lovely stay.
Really nice Hotel set in some lovely grounds. Didn't have a lot of time there so just a drink in the bar, bed and then breakfast for me. Staff friendly, room very comfy and good spec'. Good breakfast. Would def' stay again.
