Danum is located in the centre of Doncaster, just 2 mins walk to all the bars
Decor was outdated.
Price of lager
Everything else. The carpark was not allowed to be used but this was not stated before booking. The plug sockets were away fromthe wall and wasn't working. Potential fire hazard. Bathroom door did not shut
Cleanliness of the room, comfy bed, heating on in room. Great location
Shower wasn't very good but hot. No parking at hotel had to park in nearby car park.
That there was no parking website is confusing does say parking!!
It's cheap and if all your looking for is a bed for the night in the centre of doncaster then this does the job.
Needs a refurb. Everything is fairly out of date
Staff were friendly and very helpful as we were a late arrival, rooms were amazing. All in all a lovely place to stay.
Only issue the rooms were freezing, we needed the hearing on and the additional heaters plugging in from the wardrobe. Apart from that can't fault.
Clean, spacious and all the facilities one would expect from a hotel of this price range, comfortable bed and friendly staff to boot.
Radiator could not be adjusted and was therefore very hot in the room, I would not expect to sweat in bed in mid December Ordinarily. The noise from nightclub revellers in the town centre was the unignorable soundtrack to my night until 3 am.
Just bed.it was comfortable
Decor and car park was really poor
The hotel needs a good clean and a fressh lick of paint - its looking well used and abused
Location is right in the heart of the nightlife area. 45 pound per night
Room was poorly cleaned. Radiator was broke so couldn't turn it down, room was far too hot to sleep. Hotel was poorly maintained generally, duct tape on carpets etc.
There was items left in the bathroom from the previous guest that should have been taken out of the room before I moved in
Good location for centre of Donny, but around 10 mins from train station.
The location and staff
My bed was lop sided with springs protruding out of the side of it. The bathroom door didn't fit and wouldn't close. The shower door needed cleaning. The walls were paper thin and the noise from the neighbouring room was very loud.
It was very convenient and the staff were good
The interior decoration was tired and shabby....will probably cost a lot to refurbish and at the low prices they charge, I am not sure how the could afford to do the lot
The staff went out of their way to open the faulty shutter to car park and we finally had somewhere to park our car. Also location of hotel was excellent for pubs, shopping and race course.
When we arrived we were told that there was no access to the car park, shutter of entrance to car park was faulty. I asked where do we park the car. First response from staff was poor, but they did eventually assist with car park.
leaving sunday morning
the poor conditon of the hotel
Good central location for the centre and the room was very nice
I walked past the entrance 3 times before I realised it was the entrance to the hotel and not for just the restaurant. There was also some noice from the street at night
friendly staff comfortable bedroom very good location central doncaster
should have been a double room not single beds
The staff were so helpful and attentive
The hotel could do with an overhaul
Staff were excellent. There was a problem with the cistern and they immediately gave me another, and actually slightly better, room. I felt comfortable there.
all the old, cold, dirty
Attitude of staff Shabby rooms Shabby hotel in general Uncomfortable bed Took 1 hour to check in
Danum hotel is ideal for us as we dont have far to walk to the train station and shops, its a very cosy hotel.
Because I was arriving on a late train from London, I booked the Danum Hotel as its location was about a six minute walk from the railway station. The gentleman on reception was very pleasant and helpful in dealing with some of my requests and my check-in was completed quickly. The reception, bar and breakfast area were clean and pleasantly furnished and the optional breakfast offered good value and a fair range of hot 'English Breakfast' or cold 'Continental' options. My room at the Danum had some quaint pine furniture, a trouser press, an old style wide screen TV and in the wardrobe was an iron and ironing table. There were also complimentary tea/coffee making facilities located in one of the drawer units which was most welcome after a day of travelling. I think the overall state of the room decor and bathroom would be best described as faded grandeur, clearly it would benefit from refurbishment, but at least the bed was clean and comfortable. Also, the hotel's location is central and good for shopping.
