Traditional, elegant, quiet, comfortable, great location for rail/bus @ town centre. Very good, spacious twin room, warm, friendly and comfortable. Only downfall was that there was not a bar available as staff had /were otherwise engaged with a private party,.Otherwise it was fine, thank you.

So close to all the action - bars and clubs, right on the doorstep. On 3rd floor and when going asleep you can hear people outside shouting drunk

The staff were pretty freindly. Main reception and bar quite modern and clean. Hotel situated in a very popular spot, close to nightlife and close to race course. Was told parking would be available, did eventually use the overflow car park at a price of £14.00 The corridors leading to the room 104 was in need of a makeover, and the smell was not pleasant. Maids were knocking at the door at 8.15 on a saturday morning to ask if we wanted the room cleaning.

The location is good for central use, also I was attending a family party in one of the function rooms so was ideal to be able to stay on site. The general upkeep of this hotel is very very poor. The cleanliness and general maintenance is terrible. The locating is ideal if you need to be central, but it is very very noisy at night due to being a town hotel...Although this is not the hotels fault, don't expect a quiet night as clubs don't stop noise until around 4 am.

We held my parents 25 wedding anniversary party there. The venue was nice. The room was done lovely and the staff were lovely The venue room floor needed hoovering...the rooms weren't that clean, the paintwork all around the hotel is shoddy, not finished off. Main toilets disgusting,, venue roof was leaking the following morning. I appreciate the hotel is old, but no excuse for cleanliness and poor maintenance.

Centrally located and highly convenient for transport, shopping and eating and drinking. Staff are friendly and hotel is pleasant enough for a short stay or business trip. Does the job. Whilst this is not a bad hotel, it just feels a little antiquated once you're in your room. Doors don't shut properly, the VIEW is grim, the choice of T.V. channels is shocking and certain fixtures and fittings need replacing. There is a very good hotel if a little investment is made.

We had to use the overflow car park as the main secure car park was full, we also had to pay £4 to use the overflow car park, the Internet site did not make this clear! The shower in the room did not work! There were several light bulbs blown so the lighting to get ready in was poor! The room looked a little tired!

Warm and comfy. One problem some of the clients - drunk and shouting when going to their rooms. I was nervous. Glad doors were locked at night and that there was Security Guard who's job I would not envy. I was surprised the hotel was so nice - looks better on the inside than out. Perhaps would return for location but maybe during the week rather than weekend when hopefully fewer problems in the rowdy street and less drunk people around.
