We enjoyed the location, the sights, and the silence. The service, and staff were excellent. Food and restaurant were nice too.
The rooms where not so clean, and for the looks outside, we expected more on the inside.
Different rooms for functions so no noise problem ( 2 big parties taking place) Good food, nice location Friendly and helpful staff
TV to loud and too big in the bar, it's was a very nice bar but the TV spoil it when people want to sit and talk would have been better in another room
The staff were very helpful and the leisure facilities were good. Breakfast was ok too!! For 49 pounds for bed and breakfast for 2 adults what would anyone expect.......you get what you pay for.
Whole hotel felt like a pontins holiday resort......very tired decor on all floors and musty smell on floor 2. The carpets were old, frayed and showed signs of damp. Just a tired hotel in need of a refit!!!
Bed & room size
Tired looking Need to upkeep painting etc Breakfast quality not there
restaurant closes at 8:30 on Sunday nights even though they advertise that it is open later.
Good size room. Room was reasonably warm. Breakfast was fine. Staff pleasant.
Bathroom not clean properly. Hairs for previous guest on shower grab handle.
Hotel looks tired and needs a major refresh..! Breakfast was ok but evening meal was poor...
Room was comfy & clean
Breakfast was adequate. Standard range of fruit/juices/cereals as well as full English.
Mouldy bathroom tiles Noise outside window from extractor fans Dirty sink/bathroom in general Lumpy old mattress Tiny tv with very few channels available. Dirty marks all over the walls The first room I stayed in had no towels on arrival. After calling the front desk I still had no towels several hours later. After discovering all of the above problems I asked to change room. The staff were polite and obliged without question but the alternative room was not much better. Bigger and quieter, but overall still rather grubby and tired. Glad it was a business expense and not my own money.
Food was over priced and poor
Location for my business visit.
Hotel is very dated. I had a suite and it was probably 4* 20 years ago. Rips in the carpet, poor TVs and smelt like old peoples home. Needs a huge facelift asap.
During this quiet time the hotel seems a little cleaner and friendlier than I've seen it before. The room is good size, the bed is comfortable, there is a kettle etc. With booking.com prices one actually get a good value for money.
Still, the place is quite run down and patches of refurbishment don't change the impression that much. The room was cleaner than I found it on my previous visits, but there is still plenty of room for improvement. Breakfast selection is good, but the food seems to have been cooked by a person least interested in the end result. Overall, the impression is still poor.
breakfast was excellent rooms were comfortable and staff attentive. lots of leisure facilities if you wanted to use them.
evening meal was a carvery no other choice. meal was cold when we got to the table. expensive for what is was.
Close to motorway
Looking a bit tired in hotel could do with a refurb
Room Leisure facilities Breakfast Staff
Clean, comfortable room with a large double bed, nice to have the facilities to make coffee/tea, breakfast was good value.
Wife left a message at 10.30 pm which was not given to me until the following morning.
Room and furnishings good.
Bathroom really showing wear.
Good for the price. Food was good
Hotel needs a update and lots of furniture is tired.
Room was comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was good. Situation of hotel is excellent.
As a hotel guest, being expected to take the room towels to the pool, or pay £1 for their towels - which you find out when reaching the Leisure Club! The very long cold glass corridor between Reception and the rooms.
It's location was handy for me as I was going to STFC, Daresbury the next day. The breakfast was very good, with some food items freshly cooked.
The decor was old-fashioned, but I could live with that for a night!
Room very clean and spacious
Breakfast, not very edible, bacon was very hard as was the egg, may have been better just to eat cereal.
Stayed here for the night last Friday, everything was excellent. Room was brilliant and very clean. Two pillows each without asking for them. All you can eat english breaky with cereals juice and masses of toast and fruit.
every was perfect
The Bedroom was excellent.
The size of the hotel and lack of signs meant that I kept getting lost and nearly missed breakfast because I couldn't find the restaurant in time!
Value for money. Location (when there aren't any roadworks). Helpful night staff.
Very dated. Room didn't feel that clean.
