The rooms are excellent and the venue itself very well presented and currently undergoing some renovation. It can be a trek from one place to another within the complex but that's only a small gripe. The gym (which you get free access to as a guest) is small but a great perk. Breakfast was poor. Cold items, toaster was broken and you can be made to feel like you're putting the staff out merely by turning up on occasion. TV's from 1946 in the rooms!

The gym and leisure facilities. The location The room was always like a sauna as there was no air conditioning and the window would not stay open. There was no fridge to keep my drinks cold.

friendly staff, very chatty and polite, good facilities good food. staff made us aware of the refurbishments going on at the hotel. I stayed here 15 years ago and my it has changed not for the good im afraid. cleaning very poor indeed, one of the worst ive seen for a long time inside the bedroom and general hotel cleanliness not up to a standard. windows not been cleaned for some time in reception and corridors and display cabinets. room very dusty with plaster peeling off wall in bedroom. shower room had some sort of white powder cleaning detergent residue on sink area.

the reception area only. Didn't like the waiting at the reception whilst waiting to check in. No complimentary drinks were on offer for the inconvenience and other guest arrived and were given room whilst we were still waiting.I had to get up and go to reception desk to remind them we were waiting then we were offered a room which wasn't cleaned properly. Glasses were left outside the room on the floor. One bath towel to the room we booked in as a couple and it was our 30th wedding aniversary. so disappointing!!! Complicated to get to gym and through another floor to the gym area and dining room.

clean bed sheets apart from Valance Sheet Reception was very un welcoming. Staff didn’t have very good customer service skills. The room had empty bottles outside of it from the guests that stayed the night before. The drain in the bath was very poor, so much that I felt clearer not using the shower in the morning. The Wardrobe was missing a handle. The room was very dusty – the cleaner has missed several common areas that you would expect to be clean: • The skirting around the bedside tables looked like it hadn’t been dusted in months. • The photo above the bed had fallen down in the Frame • The TV was dusty. • The corners of the bathroom floor were dirty. • The valance sheet and white stains on it and mud up the side. • Curtains were not hung up correctly. • The plug socket on the kettle was falling apart. • There was a feedback form but no pen to fill it out. The dirtiness of the hotel greatly put me off using the pool. Overall the hotel was extremely poor. I will not be recommending it or staying there again. Defiantly not a 4* hotel.

The staff were very friendly and give a great service. The location is good for Chester, Warrington & Manchester. The food was good, the breakfast was excellent also the evening carve, buffet was good. the cost of £49 per night for a room plus breakfast is very good value for money. The carpets on the top floor (3) corridor had been wet at some time and the smell of (wet mop) was very bad. the room temperature could not be turned down room very hot. the hotel is looking tired and is in need of a make over.

Location Room had peeling wallpaper, grout missing from the bathroom ,tiles, musty smell small restricted channel tv.My partner had a sprained ankle and could not walk to the restaurant (which was a fair way from the room and on an upper floor)There was no room service response on the Friday, despite referring to reception, who promised a response but no-one turned up. (Meal was paid for on half board) but not taken, nor was breakfast on the Saturday morning.

I liked the staff who were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was awesome. What a selection and choice. The bed was very comfortable and the room temperature perfect. I loved your big white fluffy towels and there was plenty hot water. It was also very quiet and peaceful. I had 2 great nights sleeps. I did not have a hairdryer and my iron and kettle did not work because of a fuse which had blown previously. There was dust along the back of the sofa, a champagne cork under the dresser and spill marks on the bathroom floor. I felt the room had not been cleaned from the previous occupants. Disappointing especially as I had flown in from Aberdeen for a wedding.

Location and gym facilities Appalling food and service. Only serve a carvery in restaurant, so if you want something else you have to sit in the bar where staff frequently disappear and large screen had footy blaring out....and I like football normally but not when I'm eating1

Good location, reasonable priced room service, really friendly staff, on site spa 50% off treatments mon - fri! Having had have a room move from what I booked as a "double executive room" to another "double executive room" which was 10x better but it still had 2 single beds pushed together so you don't get what you pay for. Hardly any of the rooms had flat screens in them apart from ours, after my partner fell ill, the only thing we could do was watch tv and there was no film packages or anything to purchase! Didn't put us in the best of moods!
