The Darlington Hyde Park  

We found the Darlington to be a great location during our 3 nights stay in September 2011The room was fine and quiet and the breakfasts were fine.The staff were lovely assisting with online flight bookings and storing our luggage for us on the day of departure.There are some great places to eat in the area and transport via bus or train was so very close

The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. The dining facilities were very good and the staff extremely good.

There was no clock in the room, and the Wi-Fi didn't work.

Ideally located with charm, helpful staff, a great breakfast.

The location and the price were great, and the friendliness of the staff made it a very pleasant stay.

The only thing I didn't like was the fire door that closed betw the bedroom and the hallway. Otherwise, the room was very nice and quiet, and I particularly liked the fact that there were two windows to let in light.

We found the Darlington to be a great location - very close to Paddington station during our 4 nights stay. A large quiet and clean room; very friendly and efficient reception staff; breakfast were fine; great location - We'll definitely return. Thanks.

We were greeted on arrival by the very helpful desk staff, who continued to be caring and attentive throughout our stay. The room was large and clean, very comfortable. Loved the towel warmer in the bathroom, and appreciated the mini fridge and complimentary water. We would definitely stay here again if able to return to London.

I travelled lot and have stayed in many hotel in london and other places. And have been dissappointed most times, so I did not expect otherwise.HOWEVER, My experirience at Darlinton Hyde Park is most gratifying.The Hotel Services are exellent from day one as the staff were courtious and ever willing to assist. The Breakfast room was warm and well arranged and the staff there were very friendly.Though I would have preferred they serve beef or chicken sausages for guest who do not eat pork.

The WiFi did not seem to work in many rooms, although it was very good in the communal areas

We stayed in a quad room which had a small lounge area. Plenty of room for 4 and nice to have the extra space. Good range of food for breakfast although funny you pay a surcharge for capaccino. Had guest laundry which you pay for, but was very handy. Close to tube - 5 mins walk and bus stops just up the road.

The location of the hotel is excelent. Margareth, who seems to be the manager of the hotel, was very kind with us and helped us a lot with our doubts. The others employees of the hotel were gentle too.

I was very disapointed with this hotel. Its room is very small and the spring mattress was deformed. When I saw the pictures of the hotel´s room in the internet it don´t describe the reality.

The staff were excellent. Mostly young gilrs from eastern europe. They were friendly and kind and could not do enough for you. Hotel manager (an Englishman) was also very friendly and helpful. The full english breakfast was great and included in the price of the room. That alone saved us $42,00 a day. Rooms were very clean and not so small as other european hotels I've stayed in. The coin operated laundry facility was also an added bonus. We were able to wash and dry all our clothes for our trip to Paris the following week. Location was also pretty good. 2 blocks from Padington Station and the Circle Line Underground Subway which takes you almost everywhere you need to go in London. Restaurants in the area are so/so. The best was the Victoria Pub which was right around the corner. Excellent food. The ones up by Padington, (the greek restaurant and the Sawyer Arms) were not so good. All in all I would recomend the Darlington Hotel to everyone going to London on a modest budget. At $180 a night Breakfast included it's a good deal.

The hotel is tidy, practical and has many of the conveniences of more expensive hotels in the area--such as a lift and breakfast (which I did not have time to eat). The location is quite convenient to Paddington Station.

Like most hotels in London that cost less than a royal ransom, the room was small, the bathroom sink tiny and the shower stall half of a normal size. Although the wifi is free, it does not cover all rooms, including the one I was assigned. There actually was a view from the window--not just a brick wall ten meters away as is common.

Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of foods and table service in a light and inviting breakfast room.

The free wireless Internet connection to our room was intermittent to the point of being worthless.
