Score from 36 reviews Very good
With a stunning location in Dartmoor National Park, this inn is set in the rural hamlet of Haytor Vale. Dating back to the 18th century, it offers fantastic food and free Wi-Fi throughout.
Score from 45 reviews Fabulous
the inn is very good we like it we have enjoined are stay
Good food and service -eve meal .Friendly helpful staff
Being woken up by someone continuously trying a key in the door at 3am
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Good food at a reasonable price. Close to the Abbey and A38. Good value on a special offer.
Creaky floorboards. In common with many properties of this type, some rather tired looking decor. most bedrooms face the rather busy road to Totnes.
Blind in the bedroom let too much light in at daylight
All staff were very friendly and service very good. Excellent breakfast!
Could not get wifi in room although it said we could, but did not try downstairs.
Good atmosphere, excellent breakfast and a convenient location just off A38. Rooms were comfortable a clean. I would stay again.
Wifi didn't work
It has all the basics you need and the staff are very helpful
Everything feels extremely dated. Needs a serious refurb.
staff, food, beer, parking, beds comfortable
rooms a bit cold, shower was very weak ok if you run around a bit, pets/dogs are allowed in bedrooms
Staff were keen
Noisy room hence little sleep Anyone over 3 feet tall would struggle with shower
Very friendly staff, lovely breakfast.
Although very clean the room/bathroom is a bit dated.
A hotel with much charm and close to major routes just off the A38. Warm welcome during our stay and ample breakfast. Ideal spot for a long weekend break Although there were a couple of trivial issues it was still a very pleasant stay. And we will go back again when we need a break for a weekend. So long as we don't get room 8 again.
Hotel has only 10 rooms, our room (8) was a little cramped as one side of the room was the pitch of the roof of which I lost count how many times I banged my head on the ceiling. I suppose it was part of it's natural charm. Don't ask about the Wi-Fi no one knew how to use it and we tried for ages but with no success.
The location both moors and Totnes
Bed not wide enough
Staff were good, as was food and bar area.
Room was cramped and very dated, but away from busy road as requested. Just about OK for the price.
Location, good food and good staff
The place is tired and in need of a refurb, particularly the carpets.Bedroom No 2 is far too dark. Good location, pleasant helpful staff but the place needs a few bob spend on it
Size of room Quality of food Friendliness and service of staff Spacious dining room
Friendly and very helpful staff. Food very good. Good location for places of interest to us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the staff made it very worthwhile.
The whole place needs completely redecorating and upgrading.Carpets particularly very worn, especially on the stairs. The outside area could do with a massive tidying and clearing.
breakfast was acceptable
1,noisy room, needing facelift 2,dinner was totally unacceptable,I was not charged for it.
We received a warm welcome, the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast menu was extensive and the evening one enabled us to make good choices for the seven nights we were there. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Good location for visiting the Dartmoor area.
Some traffic noise especially when windows open. I used earplugs so no problem ! The duvets are far too thick for the summer.
The rooms, the food, the staff, the location
Nothing to dislike
we had a large front bedroom very clean and comfortable-perhaps noisy for some as it faces the busy main road.Area lovely. breakfast was excellent and service very friendly. nice relaxed atmosphere generally
Menu choice for evening meals limited and very average standard. Would definately stay at Dartbridge Inn again but not eat there in the evening.
The staff in particular were all polite, always cheerful, pleasant and helpful. Ease of access to accommodation avoiding the stairs.
Because of certain physical limitations, a walk-in shower would have been much preferable than the over-bath one, which was difficult for me. Also the power on the shower was rather weak.
Good location and pleasant staff for what we had very reasonable cost
The bed room was a bit dark
