Dartbridge InnTotnes Road, TQ11 0JR Buckfastleigh (Show map) Good, Score from 43 reviews“Staff were very friendly and clearly in party mood for the 'everyone welcome' New Years eve festivities with a local pub flavour. The Breakfast was nothing short of excellent. Value for money on New Years Eve and New Years Day was beyond belief. A great welcome back to the UK after 3 weeks in Asia. ”

The pub is under new management, and when I was taken to my room, there was a velux window with no blind or curtain. I complained and they tacked a bed sheet up to it to keep the light out and give privacy. . They were apologetic but apparently the window has been like that for some time. Not good!!!!!

The Dartbridge Inn was comfortable. We had a relaxing stay. The food was good and reasonably priced. The main bar and restaurant could have been warmer for added comfort.

The Dartbridge Inn has an olde worlde feel to it. The room was functional rather than luxurious. The best feature of the Inn was the staff. Each one was so friendly and helpful from the bar staff to the receptionist to the breakfast lady.

Easy access from car to bedroom Although when booking the person taking the booking realized one of us was disabled they failed to mention my husband would have to negotiate 15 stairs to get to the restaurant. We found this extremely difficult to get him up and down the stairs

The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. Although the rooms are plain the bathrooms and linen are spotlessly clean. We thought the breakfast was excellent - delicious fresh pain au chocolat, muffins, fruit salad, full english breakfast (plus other options on the menu we did not try). We considered it reasonable value for money and would certainly go there again. The road outside is noisy but this did not bother us unduly as my husband's snoring is worse!

The staff were very nice particularly the waitering staff. 1) There were many things off the menu leaving a very limited choice (eg: there were no steaks of any type, no sea bass; a chicken dish and lamb were also off) 2) there were three real ales pumps - at 7.30pm on Saturday 1st October none were available and I had to have lager instead. 3) our first cjhoice of wine from the wine list was not available, In the end my wife chose a beef pie and the quality was not good. Carpet at the foot of the stairs leading to residents rooms was very dirty.

Great location for exploring the Dartmore/Torbay region. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lots of old world charm. Quiet country setting, although the Totnes road is quite busy it is not intrusive. Guest rooms have their own parking lot and private door. Defenitely would recomend this hotel with a few reservations as listed below. I class them as sort of "know what to expect", defenitely not vacation stoppers. Check in at the bar is a little confusing, after that using the guest entrance is fine. Rooms are very small and no air conditioning. They were quite warm in September, I would imagine in mid summer they could be a little uncomfortable. Room was not serviced second day, garbage, replinish tea/coffee etc. Not a huge big deal, and once we asked it was done immaculately.

what we did not like was the wine waiter just placing the wine we had chosen on the table, the wine was not quite right but we realized that the wine waiter could not have answered our questions so did not bother him. Just unfortunate that as a couple we have our whole life in the fine food and wine business.

Good value for money, clean, easy access/parking etc Pub and food good. The policy says they take the money on booking but that wasn't the case, so I said I had paid (their policy), but I had not. Needs to be clear.

The Dartbridge has a relaxed atmosphere and was a comfortable haven for us to return to each evening after a very energetic day (spent at a physical activity workshop). The room was always clean and the hospitality tray well stocked. A second armchair might have been a bonus, perhaps. Breakfast was plentiful, varied, well cooked; the breakfast chef readily adapted one of the cooked menu recipes for vegetarian consumption; and the breakfast hostess was extremely welcoming and helpful in taking our order, keeping us supplied with cofee and Earl Grey tea. The workshops which we attended in the locality included lunch and evening meal, so we only ate in the hotel apart from breakfast on one occasion - when we did the food was well cooked and promptly served and was very palatable. As with every other hotel I have ever stayed in, the vegetarian menu was heavily biased towards pasta - rice alternatives would have been welcome had I eaten in the hotel on more than one night during my stay.

The location was excellent for access to many different places and many attractions were nearby. The food was very good and value for money. The only down-side was the service after being seated in the restaurant for 45 minutes we had to ask if they could take our order.

“The hotel was set in a lovely location and was a perfect base for walking in Dartmoor. Dinner and breakfast were in a formal dining room with lots of character. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful and made the difference to our stay.” Patricia, London |
