The beautiful buildings and the clean, comfortable rooms. Eating at The White Hart was enjoyable (if a little costly).

Breakfast was less easy than it could have been with self service causing a queue and some things running out.

Location is stunning and peaceful (but read on!) Staff are friendly Quality of Food very good

Rooms feel quite basic for the price First night (a Thursday) was lovely and peaceful. Second Night (Friday) spoilt - wedding was on which went on till late (1am) - very noisy music and guest noise etc so very disturbed sleep ..a real shame. Would not stay again or recommend if a function/event is on. Check first!

Room was lovely. Character windows, spacious, clean and quiet. Mature gardens, very well tended.

Somewhat isolated from anything else - but that should also be seen as a positive - a footpath guide leading to Totnes would have been helpful. Restaurant food was good, but the setting was rather too modern for the character of Hall.

I loved the location. I had a single room with a lovely view and all the room I needed, a much welcomed change from some hotel rooms I have been given. Excellent breakfast ate far too much!Friendly and efficient staff.

Not being able to park right by the hotel. I came back late on the evening apprehensive about the walk from the car park, although not far and the road well lit, it was a little spooky.

The facilities were great, and the location of Dartington itself was glorious.

The organisation at breakfast could have been a little better, as no-one quite knew who was sitting where. We were given a table, went to get food, and found that our table had been given to someone else. It wasn't a problem though, as there were enough tables.

Lovely quiet setting, bedroom/en suite a really good size.(No 55) Friendliness of the staff.

Smell which eminated from the en suite. Breakfast food could have been a little hotter. Cobwebs in the corners of the Breakfast Room.

The location is beautiful and incredibly relaxing. The rooms are very comfortable. We stayed in the modernly furnished East Wing but had the option of the more historically furnished West Wing if we wanted. The staff were very nice, especially the housekeepers Roseanne and Roy who were incredibly helpful.

The only downside was that the pub the White Hart seemed to be overpriced, which was a shame as it would have been lovely to be able to eat on site more often.

Beautiful building and stunning gardens. Great dinner in the pub.

Breakfast was a bit like being in a youth hostel. Although available food was hot and tasty.

Exceptionally peaceful atmosphere and beautiful gardens.

Lots of staircases, fire doors and hall ways to navigate with a suitcase if on top floor. Could ask for help though which I didn't. Hallways dated but room modern and comfortable.

Once you enter the grounds it is like entering another world full of calm and beauty. Food and accommodation are great.

It can be a bit hard to find reception due to limited signage.

amazing building, beautiful garden and surrounding area, very quite (had good sleep), friendly staff, clean room, good water pressure (nice shower),

would be nice to have a small fridge in a room. Breakfast was ok but shortage of staff means slow service and dirty dishes on the table from previous dinners. As there was no corner shop in the area, would be good to have a shop inside of the hall selling snacks, beer and so on.
