In our 2nights stay I found it generally excellent customer service. Receptionist welcoming guesture, a staff offer help to take our laggage when I hesitate he said "Don't worry I work here..." I thanked him. I like their attention to our report. They fixed the hot shower quickly. I found all waiters are excellent especially the chef at the breakfast time(he serves the food as well) excellent !! The garden, the dart river side walk, etc. Makes me to come back and explore more. Thank you all.
The hot shower should be checked and fixed before our arrival. It is winter ! we missed it the 1st night.
Excellent staff, beautiful hotel and grounds.
The environment The breakfast The room The bed The Bathroom
All of it
Too much Marmalade!!!
The room was gorgeous and the setting is beautiful
Just wish that we could have stayed longer
lovely location, peace and quiet, with great gardens. Most rooms are very nice and somewhat quirky. Good breakfast, friendly staff. Good mix of guests.
Rooms can be hit and miss (some with toilets and showers not en suite, sizes of room vary enormously). Food in the White Hart, the on-site pub/restaurant, is very good quality but can be pricey, as can the drinks.
Lovely place with fabulous staff. Great welcome and room was excellent and v comfortable. Breakfast superb - wished I had been able to stay longer but travelling with sister to an event.
The place was a little difficult to find at night once you left the road but all else was very good.
room confort, localization
During the housekeeping did not replace shampo, toilet paper. very weak Breakfast service
Loved the grounds and the Restaurant area. Very Comfortable beds.
Car park area was free for guests - but our friend got a ticket on New years Day! Unexpected, but perhaps not Hotel's fault...
Clean, really good shower. Food very good indeed. Beautiful location.
Breakfast was included, so you got a full english. BUT any other choice like an omelette was £3 extra. Signage in the dark on arrival makes it impossible to find.
Location , history ,catering
Corporate feel of the whole place
Breakfast. Rooms warm and clean.
Radiators in bathroom very dusty and skirting boards. Ironing board propped up against chair in bedroom. Wifi intermittent.
The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and comfortable.
Some of the mugs at breakfast were a bit dirty and the breakfast wasn't quite the standard that I expected for what we paid.
Quality of the bedroom and fittings Very good bed
Bath water had sooty deposits. Poor catering in the cafe (Roundhouse): amateur service, very limited selection of food Expensive drinks in the bar. Bar service very amateur. Restaurant and cafe lack atmosphere even though they are housed in wonderful historic buildings. Poor outside lighting at night. Car park a long way from the hotel, especially when weather is bad.
Beautiful room and excellent waitress service in white heart. Lovely grounds and barn theatre, all v close proximity. Luxury for us who travel everywhere.
Evening food not so good as last visit. Breakfast muesli better homemade.
the hotel is in a perfect location and is beautiful
they emailed me 2 days before on my anniversary not leaving chance to rebook anywhere else having a party.. that didn't finish till 3 o'clock when check out is at 10.00 i think its a bit outrageous how you can charge someone for a relaxing break when it was far from relaxing, feel disappointed with the whole situation. the email i received was as follows on wednesday when staying on friday and i had booked 2-3 weeks prior Dear Guest, Thank for your booking. I would like to take this time to make you aware that on the 5th & 6Th December there will be a Christmas party going on in the Great Hall, this could go on until midnight with loud music. We apologise now if this causes any inconvenience during your stay with us. Please let us know if you would like to alter the dates you are staying with us. i think its poor they should at least leave a week notice so then people are not trapped in this horrible situation. wish i didnt go! to be honest didnt enjoy it in the slightest thanks for taking my money!
Had a good run round the estate in the morning !
Directions not great if travelling in dark
Friendly staff lovely place.
The room was very small.
1. smiley staff 2. cinema next door 3. lots going on 4. lack of intrusion
1. the pillows 2. lack of comfy chairs in bedroom 3.lack of info about the cafe on site
Space Setting Food Access to film Gardens
Lack of facilities in room - very poor wifi. No chest of drawers, no iron, no writing paper, no water provided. Television able to be rotated so only possible to watch it from one position in the room.
The restaurant and amenities available
A relaxing night as always
Location. Friendly and wiling staff. Size of room.
Only one chair in bedroom so TV viewing giving a crick in the neck! Bathroom not cleaned on second day. No shelf space in bathroom for toiletries. Food in pub very modern -- would have like more homely food!
The character, gardens and the estate is in such a beautiful location. It seemed like a million miles away from the hustle & bustle of everyday life.
