Hotel facilities, town and overall location - really excellent

Location and view
Breakfast was just ok. Staff had to be chased up for drinks in the evening. Extra toast was a challenge to get then we received two lots. Honest mistake. These aside a very nice stay and would recommend.
A comfortable well manged hotel in lovely surroundings with an attentive and courteous staff.
Very friendly welcome every day, particularly from John.
The bench seats in the dining room are too low for the table, I am 6 feet tall, but still needed to sit on a cushion
Welcoming hotel in fantastic location with a large car park. Comfortable bed with great vie from bedroom.
Bed not made properly made up on one occasion. Bathroom a bit tired - not enough towel rails. Poor choice of cereals at breakfast - only served in mini packets Not value for money.
Set in a wonderful location and made to feel very welcome on arrival.
Too many dirty towels, bedlinen and vacuum cleaners in passageways on 2nd floor. Whilst we loved the setting of the hotel, we felt it was a bit overpriced.
The location and presentation of the hotel is excellent but it really was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff that made it for us. We were late for breakfast one morning but they went out of there way to provide us with a great brekky despite the kitchen being closed. Also the spa was fantastic. It's not a cheap place to stay but worth it.
Everything! Beautiful setting, very comfortable beds, lovely views, great food- convenient to shops and restaurants- can't wait to come again!
All the staff were very engaging and polite. The position of the hotel made access very easy and and stress free. Could not fault the food and service ..
Nothing that will not prevent us from returning...
Helpful staff - amazing views from lobby, room and resturant
Breakfast could have been bigger for the high price of this hotel
Location Service Breakfast Terrace
The spa area was disappointing. I did not sample any treatments so cannot comment on these but the lack of changing facilities discouraged me from investigating furthrt

The location, the friendly helpful staff, the room and other facilities and excellent breakfast. Highly recommend.
Location Rooms Food
Unhelpful breakfast staff The feeling of not being wanted at breakfast and everything was too much trouble.
The position with stunning views
The slow service in the restaurant for breakfast. Waited ages before attended to, then another long wait before beverages arrived.
Especially liked the location and the lovely breakfasts. Staff very friendly, helpful and courteous. Very comfortable room with everything we could possibly need or want.
We found the dinner, whilst very well cooked and presented, was a little too 'gimmicky' for our liking. i.e the foam on the asparagus tips was somehow off-putting and didn't really taste of anything. We would have like more vegetables with the meal. too.
The view from the room and the dining room, the garden area and the terrace, the staff who were efficient attentive and friendly.A very pleasant experience .
The staff were really helpful The accommodation was comfortable The view was excellent Nice location
For the cost of the room the wi-fi should be free Prices in the restaurant were a little too high
Location great ,views fantastic ,room very nice and beds comfortable .Spa was peaceful and treatments were special .
The price of the wine at £8.25 a glass was a bit steep ,we did not eat in the hotel for this reason ,I had a Cote de Provence Rose ,£5.20 in a very good restaurant in the town which is 5 min walk away .
Darting about on the river in lovely scenery--darting in and out of interesting shops and art shops---superb views-excellent staff on arrival-
The DINNER----not good poor value and not very hot. However BREAKFAST was EXCELLENT-
the staff were very pleasant John the porter was excellent very helpful and worked hard to make the surrounds tidy after guests
chairs in the dining room need cushions and the benches were most uncomfortable the menu could be more variable
