The Meadfoot Bay is a Victorian residence transformed into an award-winning bed and breakfast.
Score from 126 reviews Wonderful
The friendliness of staff and calm, inviting interiors. A perfect stroll from the town with a great selections of restaurants. Refurbishment were going on but they did not mar our stay or wake us up!
It was all good - The room we had was excellent by any standard.
Building / Refurbishment work is currently going on at the hotel which is putting the car-park spaces under some pressure with an excess of builders vans etc - But otherwise little nuisance from the work.
The location , the food at dinner and breakfast was delicious, and the offer of plum liqueur welcome drink went down a treat. Concierge John, most helpful especially. I loved it.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed very comfortable and room nice and quiet. stunning views, watching hypnotic journey of ferry back and forth...
Front of house talking loudly about her deoderant patches at breakfast! At 7.50 a glass for prosseco I at last expect some complimentary nibbles!
Excellent, friendly staff
Noise from upstairs room - sound insulation poor. Room dated.
Excellent attentive staff - nothing was too much trouble. 24 hour bar much appreciated! Lovely new refurbishment Very comfortable bed Beautiful views over the marina from our room and the restaurant
The bathroom are a little uninspiring but this is a minor point.
The spa was perfect, the food was perfect, the bed was perfect, I can't sum up how brilliant this hotel was and how it finished off a brilliant weekend.
Every member of staff, from housekeeping to front of desk to spa staff, were incredibly attentive and helpful
Staff very good as was restaurant. Room comfortable with views over the River Dart.
Nothing to dislike.
Bar prices £21 for two glasses of wine is a bit steep for average quality
Everything..!! Wonderful food, staff, room, location
The pool is rather small & no shower gel in the showers in the shower area. The entrance to the pool/spa is outside of the main hotel which isn't ideal. Wines overpriced
The hotel as on previous visits provided excellent service and I thoroughly recommend the full English Breakfast and on the whole would recommend the hotel to anyone and I shall return myself at the earliest opportunity.
On my arrival the waste bin in my bathroom had not been emptied from the previous occupants. By the number of toilet roll cardboard 'empties' in the bin it hadn't been touched for a week. The bin was full of used tissues, they stunk it was disgusting. I wondered what other cleaning had been overlooked
Perfect place to get away, warm comfy and great beds.
Just the most perfect place to relax and unwind. Gone staff are professional, attentive and polite so refrefreshing. The food is beautifully presented and delicious. Lovely picturesque setting with the added bonus of the Spa to chill in we will return.
Hotel facilities, town and overall location - really excellent
Hotel is a little bit pricey
Welcoming and helpful staff. Excellent meal. Enjoyed the pools and steam room.
The welcome The attention to detail The surroundings The very laid back atmosphere The location
Location and view
Breakfast was just ok. Staff had to be chased up for drinks in the evening. Extra toast was a challenge to get then we received two lots. Honest mistake. These aside a very nice stay and would recommend.
A comfortable well manged hotel in lovely surroundings with an attentive and courteous staff.
Very friendly welcome every day, particularly from John.
The bench seats in the dining room are too low for the table, I am 6 feet tall, but still needed to sit on a cushion
Welcoming hotel in fantastic location with a large car park. Comfortable bed with great vie from bedroom.
Bed not made properly made up on one occasion. Bathroom a bit tired - not enough towel rails. Poor choice of cereals at breakfast - only served in mini packets Not value for money.
Set in a wonderful location and made to feel very welcome on arrival.
Too many dirty towels, bedlinen and vacuum cleaners in passageways on 2nd floor. Whilst we loved the setting of the hotel, we felt it was a bit overpriced.
The location and presentation of the hotel is excellent but it really was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff that made it for us. We were late for breakfast one morning but they went out of there way to provide us with a great brekky despite the kitchen being closed. Also the spa was fantastic. It's not a cheap place to stay but worth it.
