The toilet cistern was very noisy when filling and seemed to take ages. The king side bed was comfortable, but a little too firm for my liking, but I did have two good night sleeps. Like any hotel, being on the ground floor is fine but take heed you can hear people upstairs, doors shutting etc.
The location of the Lodge was 5 minutes from the A38. When you pulled onto the massive car park the Lodge looks really oldie worldie and was very pleasant on the eye. You are shown round the Lodge before taken to your room. The room was very clean, with freshly clean bed linen and towels. Kings size bed, bedside cabinets, wardrobe, small tv. Staff were very approachable and had time for a chat. Breakfast was included and self service style, with a choice of cereals, fruit juices, milk, grapefruit, yoghurt, fresh fruit, crossonts, or an all english breakfast, with toast and hot drinks. They also serve evening meals, if required. Well stocked bar, mostly beers, but only 2 types of lager.
