Score from 298 reviews Very good
The staff were good the view over looking the harbour. And every one was freindly
location is great for a base to see Weston & surrounding areas Staff really friendly & helpful Room was a decent size Soft, comfy beds
No shower Parking can be an issue
The majority of the staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel itself is dated, very tired and in parts dirty and marked. The walls are very thin so you hear everything from the neighboring rooms i.e. when guests put the t.v. on full blast at 05:30 in the morning or even slide the bathroom door's.
very basic, rather plain menu
But dated but spotless
Seriously needs modernising. Not been done since the 80s by the look of it. Street parking only.
how clean the room was, how friendly the front man was, Andy
I booked the dauncys up two months ago, however when I got there I asked about having dinner to be told it was fully booked, surely they would cater for this. Also although the price was reasonable, breakfast was not included. However the room wAs so clean and fresh
Quiet hotel with staff willing to help when asked. My single room was small but the view was excellent. Bed was comfortable, ensuite was spotless and I was lulled to sleep by the sounds of the waves. I would happily stay again.
The building is beautiful and in an excellent location right on the sea and just away from the prom. The room was nicely decorated, a good size, well-equipped, great high ceilings and huge sash window, so felt spacious and light. I needed to leave very early and this was no problem at all Staff were very friendly and helpful it was a very good price - breakfast was not included but I did not need any that day, so it was not a problem.
There was some kind of hum that interrupted my sleep. I don't know what it was. I got a bit cold at night and used the extra blanket though it was not enough, but there was no other bedding provided.
The breakfast was good. beds comfortable, staff very friendly. We had a great time and are thinking of going there again in the future. Recommended
Just a tiny niggle: There was the noise of a generator somewhere in the background. But that is just because I was trying very hard to find a negative point.....Which was not easy...
Location , nice atmosphere ,very helpful & friendly staff .
Staff very helpful, liked the period building and setting
The only thing which was disappointing was the scrambled egg at breakfast
The Hotel is full of character and offers good, clean accommodation underpinned by excellent housekeeping and restaurant facilities. Management & staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. With no car park, it's ideal for Guests travelling by Rail being just a short taxi ride away. The seafront, beaches & town centre are just a short walk away..
very warm welcome hosts friendly Andrew very nice helpful at all times.clean and tidy bedding and towels fine good tray with plenty milk tea coffee
hotel looks very grand sadly it needs work spent to bring it up to standard rooms were some better than others ours 108 was very small ,we werent too bothered as not spending time there .but walls paper thin could actually listen to tv next door and felt like they were showering in my room bathroom dated curtain not suitable for shower too short .would have liked sea view room
My brother & I had identical single rooms, overlooking the street, both very basic but spotless. Bathroom small but ok, Décor was good. Lift to rooms available ( double gates version) Good Breakfast, table by window overlooking the water was lovely. Overall very good value as we had rooms at special offer price.
Lovely position but Hotel is situated at one end of town, ok if you are fit enough to walk, but could restrict you 'popping back' often. Hotel has no car park but is advertised as such. Off street parallel parking or nearby 24 hour carpark available (carpark charges apply).
Location was good and view from room was beautiful.
Disappointed stay, disturbed by other customers around about 3:45 in the morning. Didn't think it was value for money, room was pleasant but needed updating. The whole hotel needed updating.
The whole atmospheres and location
No snacks in the bar
friendly efficient staff good location clean and comfortable excellent breakfast
parking can be tricky at times
Nothing. The staff are second to none. You are so lucky to have such professional and personable staff. Please look after them, they are all priceless
The bed, lift out of order
Daunceys is a bit of a time warp, but in a good way. We really enjoyed our night there. The room was very basic, but also very clean, and the bed was comfortable with good white linen. The stay was significantly enhanced by having a seaside room, with the sound of the sea so close to fall asleep to. The staff were also very efficient and friendly, and the breakfast well organised and plentiful.
Maybe some slight updates, especially in the bathroom, would not go astray, but this should not be at the expense of the good reasonable value of the hotel.
Location is excellent
Hotel is in need of refurbishment
Decor Had to pay for an upgrade to sea view TV...old and bad reception....not digital
The room was a standard room, it had everything I needed for my stay. I liked that the bed was really comfortable and wasn't cold at night. Had enough space and wasn't crowded. The bar was good and was reasonably priced. Plenty of space for everyone to have a seat. There was entertainment which was very good. Wasn't far from any attractions and is within walking distance. I parked my motorcycle outside the front of the hotel and it was very safe left outside. Recommend this hotel.
The only criticism is that the TV kept loosing signal and that any time I turned the bathroom light on the extractor fan came on which was a bit noisy and wasn't pleasant when using the facilities.
The hotel is very reasonable, and the comforts good. Well positioned in the older part of town. Close to some very good restaurants. The outside patio has stunning views although it has no protection from rain or wind which was a shame, but it did not spoil the trip. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms very clean and tidy. Everything you could want if you are out and about during the day. A pleasant well stocked bar and keen prices.
The hotel has a restaurant, but to eat there in the evening you have to reserve a table and give in your order by 3pm. Not a great idea when you have been travelling for a long time. However, there are many eateries in the area which offer good and varied food.
