Staff were very friendly
free street parking (winter), delightful staff, completeness of the room (facilities, furnishing), good bed, georgeous views over the sea
establishment needs updating, tiny shower, inflexible and restricted food offering in the restaurant
The staff were excellent. Very friendly and went out of their way to help and make sure your stay was as comfortable as could be. Thank you
Could do with updating but saying that this did not bother me at all. The staff far outweighed any negative feedback. Had a good stay at this hotel and would go back
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Good location over looking the sea. Very friendly locals pub at the end of the crescant.
Scruffy exterior of the hotel with paint peeling off and rusty metalwork. Tiered rooms with 1980's decor and furniture and a tv which came out of the arc. Have not seen a bathroom like that since the 70's when i was a plumber
View from breakfast room is lovely
Not sure the heating was working in some rooms
I liked the room the bed and the attitude of the people that deal with our request
nice position and staff helpful
not enough staff at the bar at night and left to cover all amenities!
Our room was overlooking the sea which was very attractive with the sun setting over it ..room was comfortable and clean and good temperature .
Initial welcome was a bit 'off-putting' as we arrived before the 3pm check-in and were told to go for a walk and come back half an hour later at the correct time! Our experiences of the staff after this were all good though and we would certainly return
Me and my partner and a friend stayed at Daunceys hotel for the weekend, we thought it was a excellent hotel and in a great place and lovely views, staff was great and friendly and people that was staying in hotel was friendly to, can't wait to go again
Lovely hotel...friendly staff...lovely views of the sea....lovely breakfast.
The bed was very hard....stains on the ceiling....volume button was broken so couldn't turn the tv down.
Hotel rooms very run down, carpet disgusting, telly was that old I've took better to the skip, room heated by a fan heater, shower was terrible when on water just trickled out. In fairness room was a total nightmare If it wasn't for the friendliness of the staff we would of left
The receptionist and staff were fantastic, helpful and innovative!
Basic but comfortable.
It felt a bit dated! The TV was very poor. It only had 3 channels and they all had bad visibility.
Bed was old
Staff were very hard working, pleasant ans helpful.
Poor maintenance generally with old and out dated decor and windows, carpet in bathrooms is a definite no no. In need of complete make over.
room was slightly cold at night
there was a good selection at breakfast and the service was good it was nice to have a sea view whilst eating.
Andy, was a great host, he was really welcoming, and spoke to us at the bar for a good 2 hours, and made us feel very welcome
Friendly staff and a nice old world atmosphere
Room was sold as having free wi-fi. This was misleading. The hotel has wi-fi around the reception area but nowhere else.
Enjoyed our stay at Daunceys, staff helpful and pleasant.
The staff were very helpful and service was excellent. The Hotel is right on the sea front and has excellent views of the bay. I suggest you request a sea view and spend some time in the bar and lounge looking out at the sea. Free parking outside the hotel.
Needs modernising but then it would be out of my price range. So not really a criticism.
Good size, clean twin room and lovely breakfast with sea view all for £25 a head. Short walk along seafront to town. Ideal for a one night stopover.
Whole place is very shabby and dated. But was exactly as I expected having read other reviews.
No heating - thermostat on radiator broken. Room next to noisy, ancient lift. Tiny shower - hardly enough room to wash properly. Very run down room - carpet did not look clean. Would never stay there again!
Hotel lift, live entertainment,
Would have preferred a sea view but at the price our room facing away from the sea was a good size.
Breakfast was simple but sufficient.
Hotel very dated. Bathroom carpet smelt of urine. No shower. Tiny TV. Bed was solid.
