The couple who owned it were very pleasant and helpful and the food, both breakfast and dinner was very good. We were in what was termed a "superior room". The room was adequate. Bed comfortable but bathroom had no lock and door didn't close. Shower wasn't up to much flow wise.

I was made so friendly by the owners. Nothing was too much trouble; although I was the only person dining they cooked me beautiful meals each night, and made me feel so welcome. The room was comfortable and very clean. I look forward to my next visit. John Treherne MBE MA There is nothing to criticise or change in any way. I stay in so many guest houses and can recognise outstanding quality.

The owners Jim and Doreen are so friendly, it's more like staying with family. The food was excellent and they really can't do enough to help you. I was only staying for one night but would have happily stayed for longer and I will definitely stay here again,

Jim and Doreen and probably two of the nicest people you could meet. They went out of their way to make me feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The bedrooms were clean and very comfortable, Wi-Fi and a fantastic freshly cooked breakfast - Highly Recomended The fact that I had to go home

The greeting, the food both in the evening and at breakfast. I was up in the attic room with a severe sloping ceiling and the bathroom was a little cramped.

Very welcoming and friendly proprietors in Doreen and Jim both anxious to please. An older character property, comfortable, homely and good value for money - an unusual combination these days

The first impressions of Damage House Hotel were most positive and we liked the individual attention to detail and helpfulness of Jim and Doreen who went out of their way to make our stay most enjoyable. The breakfasts each morning were well presented and enjoyable in addition to the friendliness of other people staying there. Loved the old world charm of the hotel - there was adequate parking and Jim provided helpful information about what to see in Dunfermline. The only negative was that the cold water tap and toilet flush didn't work properly - in fact the cold tap moved and turning the handle was an effort so had to rely on water from the hot water tap. The toilet didn't flush properly. Also we had to ask for additional towels on our arrival but Jim was able to provide them quickly as only one set had been provided. Talking to Jim gave me the understanding that gradual improvements to a place like the hotel need to be carried out over a period of time. The only other slight problem was we didn't have an opportunity of utilising the lounge room at night as we were out late on Most nights. Since being located on the top floor, lugging heavy suitcases up stairs was a Minor inconvenience but didn't really detract from our stay .

Meals & friendly service We booked 9 months prior only to be given a tiny attic room with restricted head height, very ordinary furniture & fittings & limited access to Wi-Fi & had to stand at door to get any reception.. The owner admitted the wi-fi had been a problem for 2 yrs since he changed providers. We requested another room but were refused. It was explained by the owner that he gives priority to his regular business customers & lastly to tourists. The room we were given was the worst accommodation we have had in 42 yrs of international travel

Everything I expected from reading the favorable reviews of others, and more. The couple who run Davaar House really know how to anticipate and meet the needs of their guests. The decor and furnishings are perfect, the service superb, and the entire experience of staying there just right. I shall return!

In a great location, quiet yet within walking distance of the centre of town and the beautiful Pittencrieff Park, the Davaar offers a friendly welcome and the very best in Scottish hospitality by its owners Jim and Doeen - a couple who have tasked themselves with ensuring guests enjoy a pleasant and relaxing stay in their beautiful Victorian house. We stayed here for two nights and were delighted with our decent-sized, spotlessly clean and comfortable, en-suite accommodation. As things worked out we did not manage dinner on either evening and although I am not a fan of cooked breakfasts I thoroughly enjoyed my cereals, fruits and tea and toast. My husband, needless to say, enjoyed all the trimmings!! Having family in the area we have stayed in a few different places in Dunfermline these past few years but on all counts not one comes close to the standards of this hotel. How lucky that these previously stayed in hotels were all full on the dates we wanted - and how lucky we were to find the Davaar House Hotel. No need to look any further - we'll stay again - and again... We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to everyone. You won't be disappointed. N/A
