Location was great for my place of work Staff were neither polite nor rude they seemed bored and uninterested in me as a guest and just took my money and that was it I have stayed in friendlier places so would probably not stay there again given the choice

It was close to the airport. It was however very tired decor wise, tatty is the word that springs to mind, the bed was uncomfortable with springs evident throughout the night. That said, it was cheap (£25 on a Saturday night, 5 miles from an international airport) is reasonable.

The hotel is a little tired but the room (room 6) was large, clean and had a hospitality tray which we didn't expect. The hot breakfast was good, we did not use the bar. The free parking was an added bonus and we found all the staff we came into contact polite and extremely helpful. An ideal place for an overnight stay which we would use again.

Hotel was good value for money, staff a bit amature but friendly enough, even got me something to eat when I had overslept and missed breakfast by about an hour which I think many places would not have done. Returned to hotel about 00.30 to 01.30 me and a couple returning at the same time were kept waiting for someone to unlock the door which took longer than accetable as it was very cold

Friendly staff. Evening meal and breakfasts were very good. Bed was comfortable and clean. Hot tap water in sink was only warm and no hot water from shower at all. Used shower room along the corridor which was fine.TV Was ancient with poor reception. No coat hangers. Old decor, but was probably really posh in 1958! But if your not too fussy it was all quite cosy...

Good plentiful food Poor decor in upstairs corridors, bedrooms on different levels so several stairs and steps to get to bedrooms. No lift or disabled facilities. No hot water. We were told we were a long way from the boiler and could change rooms. Then later the electric shower did not perform well!

Excellent service, was able to check in at midnight, friendly staff, room was comfy with a small tv. Took my key during the daytime, so cleaner actually left towels for me outside the room for me to pick up after which was nice. Location is on the main road so buses are frequent. Good to be back home. I think most rooms are not en-suite, so keep that in mind.

It was well located not too far from the town of Stockport and the Town Hall. It is conveienty situated to get into the centre of Manchester either by train or bus. The price of accommodation and dinner is probably rather lower than most accommodation in Manchester. The food is good and ideal for the working/travelling person. I will be returning later this year.

Staff professionalism excellent and welcome was very warm, organised and friendly which ensured a smooth and straightforward stay. For me there was an obvious a pride in customer service and making sure the important things were done properly rather than focusing on unecessary extras Showers a little low powered

The warm friendly atmosphere with pleasant staff who make you feel welcome especially in the dining room. The hotel is slowly being refurbished but my room was warm and comfortable - more than satisfactory for an overnight stay. Will be booking there again

Great friendly staff and a good breakfast. Despite being a coffee machine that made strange noises, a decent Americano was produced. The single rooms are poky, outdated and have the odour of the last vestiges of when smoking was permitted. Not been decorated for ages. They are also relegated to the back of the hotel where the cooler system for the beer cellar hums until 11.30 pm and makes the rooms vibrate. For the price paid, you can find much better B & B at guest houses!

Although the check in was not until 1500 they allowed me into my room at 1100 as I was attending a funeral and wake. Due to unforeseen circumstances I did not require the 2nd night and although it was way past the cancellation point, they did not charge me for the cancellation. In the evening, I sat chatting to the owner (John) a Portugese gentleman, and he bought me a couple of drinks< which I thought was very kind of him. The other staff, including the room maid, (Esther) were very polite & attentive. Top marks from me. Only 1 small niggle, and that was the hot water in the room was only tepid. However, that can be said for a lot of hotels. Either too hot, or too cold.

The Davenport is an old Hotel. If our room was typical, then it needed urgent decoration. There were signs of "amateur" repairs.....paint on net curtains, holes in the walls etc. a hint there, use professionals! B ut, having said that, the staff were exellent, friendly, nice. The banqueting service\was 100% The food, second to none. Overall, We would certainly recommend this hotel. Good things very much outweigh bad things. Davenport, thanks for a pleasant stay.
