Very friendly staff. Remarkably quiet despite being on the very busy A6.and consequently slept really well. Breakfast was OK. Very dated decor in musty smelling room that desperately needed updating. No complementary shower gel/shampoo,so I had to buy some. Couldn't get shower to run hot in the morning

I found the staff practical and efficient. The room was clean, comfortable and reasonably quiet. There was a lot of movement and talking by patrons or guests outside my room in the middle of the night, which I found disturbing at about 3am. The furniture and facilities were functional but basic.

It was clean and an excellent breakfast. The hotel has obviously seen better days but there was nothing to dislike and I wouldn't hesitate in staying there again.

Comfortable sleeping. Food excellent. Staff pretty friendly. Our room had no heating only a halogen heater for warmth and didn't complain as it was for only one night. The television was older than gods dog.

the rooms are old but clean, very good breakfast, hotel staff friendly and helpful. if I was to find fault with the davenport hotel, it could do with redecoration and revamp! but as stated above it is old but clean, just needs an upgrade. I would recommend the davenport, but would say it needs updating and let them make their own decision.

Convenient for Stockport. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Our room had a step up then down into the bathroom - difficult to negotiate at night. Some of the furniture in the room was a bit rickety - table, chair.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, very friendly and I would not hesitate to stay again. The food was very good and plentiful. The front door being locked and given a phone number to ring, if I hadn't had a mobile phone I could have been in trouble. A door bell in which to summon the night porter would be a much better and quicker solution
