EVERYTHING WAS JUST GREAT
Comfort, cleanliness, facilities in room eg plenty of toiletries, towels, sweets etc nice wee added value touches which makes a difference
Minor fault was having to ring bell inside a few times on arrival before been shown to room Only a trivial fault here as I was in a rush to go to the races
We loved Linda the owner. Our room and on suite were fantastic! Linda provides quite a wonderful full English breakfast. Very easy to walk to the shopping areas of Ayr.
It took us quite a long time to find the house. So, I would like to see better directions for foreign travelers.
For all the places stayed in while travelling this was by far the best place. For anyone staying in Ayr I would strongly recommended Daviot Guest House. The location can get any better.
it was close to town centre good location
Great breakfast Large family room Friendly staff 2 mins from seafront
the hole weekend
We liked just about everything: friendly people, good food (I recommend the Daviot Open Melt and the pancakes - so you would have to stay at least 2 days:), beautiful interior, the sea right around the corner, and after one week of sleeping in a tent we were especially thankful for the comfy beds:)
A nice room with a comfy bed. Breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly.
Just like a big family togerther with the other persons staying at the bed and breskfast and the hosts too. very very good breakfast - we will absolute tell abour it to everyone
Where do we start!!! this was a lovely b&b room was spotless with lots of wee extras. Breakfast was lovely loads of choice. Location was great its a short walk from the town centre, pubs and restaurants. Can't wait to return. This was booked as a birthday gift from my husband and we weren't disappointed! (age group 35 - 50)
Breakfast was great and plentiful. B & B owners were very friendly and helpful. Ideal location for Ayr.
No En-suite, although I did book one. We did have our own shower room, but it was across the landing.
So very homely. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. The choice of breakfast was better than most Large hotels. I have used the Daviot before and it will be my first choice on future visits to Ayr,
Everything except the price - £75 B&B per night for one person. Also, out of the 7 hotels I stayed in on my trip to Scotland, it was the only one which had the toilet roll holder fixed in a handy, appropriate position!
As already stated, "the price", which I later found out was normally £40 per night but was increased to £75 because of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow! Also, like all the 7 hotels I stayed in on this trip, there was no tray or shelf for the soap in the shower.
excellent location, comfortable stay, loved the pancakes and the breakfast. Child friendly we would definetely stay there again.
First of all - ospitality, great breakfast, clean and pleasant - I recommend very much,
We had a lovely stay here, nothing to niggle about for a change - should have stayed longer.
Silvio is very friendly and attentive. We were welcomed by Shirley who gave us an envelope with a personnel message from Silvio. There are 9 (delicious) variations of cooked breakfast : you fill out the form the night before. Silvio is very helpful and gives a lot of useful advice (restaurants, ...). This cosy B&B is in a quiet street near the beach. The Railway station is nearby (10 minutes walk) and there are frequent trains to Glasgow.
There's only a limited wardrobe and not every room can be fully darkened.
Very friendly owner and staff; Helpful information on what to do / where to eat; Perfect location; Very good room / facilities.
Myself, my Mum and my 6yr old daughter stayed at the Daviot when we went to the Commonwealth Games. The owners were extremely accommodating, allowing us to book an extra night (at a very busy time), and changing our existing booking to make things easier for us. They even put a brand new extra bed into the room we had booked, for my daughter! Nothing was too much trouble, even down to ensuring we had a packed lunch to take on our very early morning trip to Hampden Park for the Games. We stayed in the Garden Room, which was separate to the main part of the house. It was lovely and private, and we even had a key for the gate so we could come and go out of the back way (which was much easier). I very much enjoyed staying at this very friendly, very comfortable and endearing guest-house, it was such a lovely welcoming experience, and I would absolutely stay here again if I was ever in the area. The breakfast was superb!
A very warm welcome with all the right information we needed to get settled in quickly. Excellent packed breakfast offered because we had to leave very early on both mornings of our stay.
