Score from 555 reviews Very good
Heating in room not working
Clean comfortable room
Poor heating on very cold night
location .parking.easy going attitude
the carpets in the hallways were worn out the place smelt of raw sewerage the bed was uncomfortable and we didnt get the rooms we booked
Basically this hotel is part of the services off the A14 but it was a good location for travelling to St Ives. Clean & tidy bedroom/bathroom. Free WiFi. There are amenities next door to the hotel, within the services - Costa, M&S Food, Noodle bar but no bar/restaurant at the hotel (that I could see). Overall it's okay for a business stop and you get what you pay for.
The lady in reception was very helpful and pleasant. T. V box had no bAtteries working.
The red wine
Front of house staff fantastic
the shower had good water pressure and was lovely and hot
The pillows on the bed were too thin to provide support / there were no extras in the wardrobe
Non smoking room that had been smoked in Sofa bed lumpy and not flat No hot water. No apology
BAD drain smell. Bad reaction from staff. Had to ring the Manager who knew there was a problem but no one warned us.
Rooms are clean and neat, location is convenient for passing travelers. Good value for the low price. practical rather than fancy but I had a goods nights sleep and there wasn't any noise from the services.
no coffee or microwave in room. some of the public spaces looking warn.
Because of the high winds there was an aeriel kept rubbing against the outside wall of our room. This made sleeping difficult. We woke up to no power in our room. This would appear to be the only room affected. I am not sure what caused this. We were offered the facilities in the room opposite.
Friendly staff. Comfortable stay. This is my second stay en'route to other places. Thank you.
As a solo traveler. The taxi fare to the motel is quite expensive and no bus to the centre of Cambridge. Apart from that I shall be back.
Easy drive into Cambridge Free Wifi Friendly staff
Uncomfortable pillows and bed
Why are guests allowed to smoke in rooms ? .Our room smelt of stale tobacco. Surely smoking should be restricted to special areas in hotel. It won't encourage us to return.
Great location, friendly staff. great value for the money. good that the hotel offers a smoking room.
there is an unpleasant smell as you go up to the rooms that is always there as we are regular visitors to this hotel. the hallway carpets are very shabby.
there was no smoking rooms left because there was an error in the booking i normally stay upstairs this time i was downstairs the carpets were threadbare in the halls the halls smelt of raw sewage the mattress was dreadful not a very nice stay this time
The bed was a good sleep and it was very tidy.
The toliet was a bit smelly, drain blockage or something.
The room was very smelly and carpet worn would not use it again even though it was cheap
Location was good, facilities good. Free parking, could order cot with ease.
The staff at reception had an oppourtunity to sell us some breakfast which we would have gladly taken them up on this offer,if they could have given us more information i.e was there veggie option etc (perhaps an idea for more information about breakfasts to be put into rooms, so we dont need to disturb staff members) , our bulbs needed replacing in our room, the guy said he would bring us some more but never returned & therefore it was too dark, strange smell in our room was a bit offputting and there were cobwebs in corner of the room.
Directly linked to various eateries and small shopping facilities.
Further from Cambridge than I anticipated with no public transport links.
-Very good sized room, could have taken a spin class in there -Bed was very comfortable -ceiling fan heater warmed up room very quickly
- Was welcomed by a very unpleasant smell in the corridor, which was present throughout my stay even the next morning. - no shower gel/body gel in the dispenser, first hotel I have been to where I didn't bring my own so this was annoying.
The bed was very uncomfortable as were the pillows. The air con did not appear to be working properly. The room was very hot and could not be cooled by the air con.
After a very long journey in very bad weather freezing fog, Icey roads and what turned out to be the coldest night we were greeted in the early hours by the receptionist who by this time was on go slow, The rooms were freezing cold with no heating, the heated towel rail in the bathroom didn't even work to try and get some warmth into the room had to try to get some rest so slept with coat on even though the corridors were boiling!! The smell of the hotel next morning was like raw sewage was running through the building so we left a lot earlier than planned.
Nasty smell - smelt like dirty toilets/ drains
