Great hotel comfortable clean cheap nothing to grumble about
Really enjoyed staying here, we only had 3 nights here but it was all set up lovely for us on arrival and was very cosy for what we needed, lady on reception was nice and friendly and made us feel welcome, room was clean, would definately stay here again when visiting friends in the area, so thank you!
spot on for purpose
didn't find fault
Everything. Staff was most helpful, very clean, good location, excellent cost and comfort
Size of rooms. Price.!!!!! Unbeatable!!!!
Having to ring bell/phone to open barrier of car park. Barrier coded. Code should be given at check in.
Huge room/family adjoining rooms. great shower.
heater smelt wrong! turned it off.
This hotel is very good value for a one night stay. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The rooms were not very sound proof at all, so I could hear people coughing / laughing, TVs in the rooms on either side.
the staff were very helpful and friendly
The family room had a nice comfortable bed with loads of room and the 2 children's beds were in a separate room accessed via an arched doorway. So much space was very welcome.
Shower didn't work correctly but was sorted as soon as staff informed. Shower gel in the room was empty but we had some of our own anyway. Children's beds and one chair need glueing together as are loose but not dangerous.
Or room was quiet and comfortable.
Servicing of room was cursory.
Comfortable Good staff
The location was excellent
Dated room, very poor water pressure in sink and shower, uncomfortable bed.
Comfy enough hotel, friendly staff, got room for £40 which seemed fair
£10 charge for having a dog, stated that this was a cleaning charge but we all know they don't clean the rooms any differently !! Going by some of the marks on the couch, I suspect they should've cleaned up better after some human visitors had been !
Generally very good
Got to the hotel made the booking through booking.com. The lady on reception (Louise?) checked our booking saw we had two small children and put us into a different room that was easier for us to get too with a pushchair and our luggage. She then got us clean towels and sheets as the weather was very hot (around 30oc) very humid and she fully installed our travel cot supplied by yourselves and told us she was on her shift until 11pm and if we needed anything at all then not to hesitate in contacting her at the reception desk. I would employee a hundred of her she was very polite, helpful and simply fantastic.x.
Location. Was looking for a hotel close to Matlock. And this seemed miles away. We seemed to be driving forever till we reached the hotels destination after leaving Matlock and heading for the hotel. Which isn't good in the heat with two very hot and screaming kids who just wanted a cool bath and bed they were very hot and tired. ( 1 aged 10months and the other aged 4 years) But Louise the receptionist was fantastic on our arrival and soon got us all sorted out.
Family room wasn't too cramped. Clean with comfortable beds. Staff provided extra pillows on request. Easy access by car to local area and free parking even though this was an M1 service station.
Reception not manned on arrival - had to find a member of staff in the hotel for service. Room for 4 only had drinks provision for 2.
Unless you are actually travelling on the M1 Northbound, you will have great difficulty in finding the correct entrance, signage is very misleading if approaching from the villages.
The staff were really friendly and helpful with giving advice on where the nearest cinema was and places to eat. Rooms were very comfortable and it was nice and quiet especially as it was so close to the motorway.
The bathroom could have been cleaner and the water for bath hotter.
Friendly and helpful receptionist Spacious room I approve of the absence of a power shower as a green option.
It was very hot weather and the window was restricted. Even in cooler whether I dislike this. Surely the risk of discomfort from heat outweighs the risk of someone falling out. After all children should be supervised. As I am am employed as a Risk Manager I feel I am well qualified to state that window restriction is disproportionate to the risk. WiFi was dreadful.
No fuss, you get what you pay for.
Expensive food in Road Chef.
Simple cheap nice staff
Didn't get my bill. The iron looked dangerous!
After arriving later than planned the member of staff couldn't have been more helpful sorted out our rooms no problem and brought us some extra pillows etc.. In the morning again the staff were friendly and polite.. Keep up the good work chesterfield your bosses must be proud.
Excellent massaging shower after a 9 hr bike ride
Had to walk over bridge to get a meal.
The room was to a good standard
Not having facilities to enjoy a relaxing stay. ie. No bar in the hotel and having to use the service station for something to eat. Not being told that there was a barrier instead of having to go up the motorway to come back down again. We only found out by chance when another guest mentioned it. Gettin breakfast vouchers and told we could mix and match, when in fact we were told we had to stick to the menu. Very expensive for tea, toast and scrammbled eggs!!!
