Just a short walk from the centre of this market town and only 500 metres from Chesterfield Railway Station, the hotel offers free private parking and good value.
Score from 577 reviews Good
On the A619, just off junction 30 of the M1 motorway, the hotel makes a great base from which to visit the Peak District, Sheffield and Nottinghamshire, with free parking and comfortable en suite...
Score from 329 reviews Very good
Trying to get there is an absolute nightmare
comfortable bed, good size bathroom excellent shower
lack of suitable directional instruction to access the southbound services.
The staff could not do enough for us and were very friendly and helpful.
Pleasant staff, pleasant room. It meet expectations.
Clear directions for Southbound customers to get to the Northbound side are required. And eat before 8pm as on a Sunday night the only place open after that was the Costa.
The location. Finding out we could leave the Days Inn. Throught the back way onto a country road was useful for us to meet a friend without going miles around. Staff were very helpful.
Address of days in as both Tibshelf and Pilsley . Not enough information that it could only be accessed from the north bound motorway.
Room and Staff very good
Restaurant very limited selection-not used by many guests whilst we were there.
It is an excellent place for us to stay on our way to many dog shows in the area. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The staff were very friendly, good size room and ultimately we all had a good nights sleep
Cleanliness was not as good as you would expect. When we filled the kettle with water from the tap the water came out with black bits in it so we weren't able to use it. The lock to one of the doors didn't work properly all the time, which made it difficult to get into the room. The bathroom towel rail didn't work, the light came on but it never got hot. Also the television was tiny
The price is pretty good, room was clean, generally the Days Inn was quiet at night. Some useful services next door for food etc.
The days inn was awkward to find, not well sign posted, having to keep pressing the intercom to open the barriers in the car park is a pain, the water on the second day of my stay was not very warm, some mould on the bathroom tiles (room 31).
Quiet and no effect of motorway sound
The directions did not make it clear that Days Inn was actual ly part of the Tibshelf service area and thus accessible direct Off the M1
peace and quiet closeness to motorway
Good location value for money.
Desk not managed all time. Quilt on bed's not big anouth more like for children. Apart from that all good.
It was a clean and comfortable room , which is all I wanted really .
My only complaint would be the shower / bath water was a trickle and my bath had to be topped up with kettles of boiling water
If you want to get your head down for the night and not fussed with luxury, then this place is fine. Staff were helpful.
On arriving the reception window was closed by a shutter which was less than inviting. The first room I was give stunk of damp and wasn't pleasant, but they were happy to offer another which was good. Think this place could do with a wad of cash being ploughed in to it, but it is what it is budget.
Booking on the day of visit, I was not stung with a higher rate.
The door lock was on its last legs, and needed real force, some luck and two hands to use (Room 37)
Convenient for m1 Friendly and helpful staff Good size room with all you need for a brief 1 night stay
Easy to check in, standard rooms. Fine for what we wanted - just one night with late check in, early check out.
Getting a parking fine despite registering our car with reception - had to dispute etc.
Great rooms and comfy bed, staff suggested a great cheap pub just 5 mins away
Room hadn't been hoovered, but otherwise clean, just the usual boring food outlets next door.
Good Size Rooms Excellent Staff
Very Tired rooms Needs a lot of TLC Beds very old & lumpy - Could feel springs Carpet dirty & sticky!
Reception staff were excellent and very helpful, especially with directions to chesterfield hospital !
The rooms hadn't been cleaned properly and the beds had certainly not been pulled out to hoover. The bath had a black ring around it which could have easily been removed with bathroom cleaner ! The shower kept losing water pressure so kept running hot & cold ! This hotel is on a motorway service station so is in the middle of nowhere , we had come to visit my sick mother-in-law in hospital and it would have been nice to have somewhere to go for a drink near to the hotel without driving ! We purchased breakfast vouchers at a discounted rate of £7.50 for a £10 voucher, only to find the next morning that a barely adequate English breakfast ,two small bottles of water, four slices of toast , a tea and a coffee came to the princely rip off sum of £25.03 !
Comfortable room. Welcoming reception even the dog. Couldn't hear the motorway. We would definitely use it again as excellent value for money and we will recommend to others.
Rubbish found under the bed so the cleaning could have been better. Overall the room was clean but finding a pop bottle and a coffee wrapper spoilt it.
The room was nice it was used to chill with my partner
There was a dead spider hanging from its web near the window and there was cob webs from the ceiling . Not enough milk or coffee
Large room, tv, WiFi, tea/coffee,
Could hear next room talking/coughing, we arrived around 8.30pm and services only had whsmith and Costa open
1. I loved the idea that I could ask for extra tea and coffee over and above what was provided in the room. 2. the TV was a welcome relaxation. 3. the room was quiet and I slept well with the extra pillows provided 4. good hot water for the shower and soap and shower gel was provided 5. great parking right outside the hotel. 6. I liked that I could get to either north or south entryways of the motorway with the "short cut route" 7. liked the ease of booking and cancellation option.... very useful for business meetings, where some finish early as well as late.
1. post code on my sat nav left me a little stranded for a while as it said I had reache my destination with Days Inn nowhere in sight. 2. bathroom grouting was blackish and you should pay more attention to this item of cleaning. 3. very disappointed with the cleanliness, menu and staff levels at the adjacent eating place offered for breakfast - slow service, too expensive, could and should be cleaner - dirty knives and folks, had to use plastic ones which were rubbish...don't think I would bother eating there again !
the hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly
the hall carpets needed replacing as it smelled a bit musty as it was quite old
